Game of Thrones cast member Gwendoline Christie and 12 Years a Slave Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o have joined the cast of Star Wars Episode VII, according to the official website.
Lupita Nyong’o, long rumored to be associated with the latest movie of the Star Wars saga has finally been confirmed by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, who said in a statement that "it's thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape."
Nyong'o, who recently won an Academy Award for her portrayal of Patsey in Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave, is also joined by Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne of Tarth in HBO's Game of Thrones. Christie is an unfamiliar face on the big screen, but that may be set to change as she is also due to appear in the upcoming instalments of The Hunger Games movie adaptations.
