Kevin Feige, the mastermind behind the box office success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been drafted in to help create a new era in Star Wars storytelling, it has been announced.
Knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a 'Star Wars' film together.
Alan Horn, Walt Disney Studios Co-Chairman
According to reports, Feige had discussed a role within the Star Wars franchise during meetings with Kathleen Kennedy and Disney Studios executives earlier this summer. At present Kathleen Kennedy remains at the helm of Lucasfilm, and there appear to be no plans to change this, but bringing Feige into the fold surely signals that Disney are prepared to bring out the big guns to ensure future success for the franchise post The Rise of Skywalker.
Feige's impressive track record at Marvel include some of the highest-grossing movies ever, including last year's Avenger's: Endgame. It is unknown how much involvement Feige will have in the already announced titles, such as Rian Johnson's Star Wars Trilogy (which news has been worryingly quiet about lately) and the project currently in progress by Game of Thrones TV adaptation creators David Benioff & DB Weiss.
