Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been nominated for five Oscars at this year's 88th Academy Awards.
Although as expected The Force Awakens failed to make the cut for some of the top awards it was nominated in five of the more technical categories that honor the high production values of the film industry, and it faces some stiff competition from some of 2015's big hits.
