James the Defender 7 Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) I got a cable box from Comcast. I now get to see my Phillies even when the miracle Flyers team is palying. I'll admit, I'm a bandwagon fan for the Flyers. Last year I was trying to get into the sport, but once I married it became nearly impossible between my wife not liking sports and me still watching football and baseball. Now, however, I'm going to pay attention to the Flyers. What a comeback! 3-0 in teh series and 3-0 in the game! Wow! 3rd team in NHL history! First since '75! Chickenman 9 Posted May 16, 2010 Ugh. I've now watched two series where a team won the first three and choked for the next four. I much preferred it when I was on the winning side. *Drinks away the past week*
Master Hayes 1 Posted May 17, 2010 The Twins finally win a game in NY! The Flyers crushed the Habs last night....
James the Defender 7 Posted May 17, 2010 (edited) I love the Flyers goal-tending situation... They had Emry, he went down, then Leighton, he went down...then Boucher...he went down...now we're back to Leighton... Roller coaster! The only place the Canadiens will inhabit during the Stanley Cup is in their homes, watching the Flyers and 'Hawks duke it out. Nah, j/k. The Habs have nothing to lose. They're the team no one expects to win, and it makes them dangerous. Series will go to 6 games. But I'm predicting Flyers-'Hawks. James the Defender 7 Posted May 18, 2010 (edited) Everyone's been taking two of three from the Red Sox. I hope the Phillies do the same this weekend. Edited May 18, 2010 by James the Defender
Mara 29 Posted May 18, 2010 And then we let the White Sox beat us. Who is "supposedly" worse than us. Bah. At least the Twins lost, so we didn't lose too much ground on 'em in the division. And if we can win most of our road trip games coming up (A's, Dodgers)... it's not so bad.
James the Defender 7 Posted May 20, 2010 (edited) w00t! Bought Phillies tickets! Going to the game on June 25th for the Bluejays series where the Phillies are in Philly, but are the away team. Game in an NL stadium played with AL rules! Awesomeness!! :D :D :D My wife is also buying my a World Series Cliff Lee jersey for our anniversary! I know he's no longer a Phillie, but he was my 2nd biggest man-crush last year (biggest was Aaron Rodgers). w00t for Cliff Lee! Bad furday 57 Posted May 21, 2010 (edited) I want. http://f1.gpupdate.net/en/formula-1-news/235228/upstate-new-york-track-hoping-to-welcome-f1/ http://jalopnik.com/5391779/monticello-motor-club-a-turn+by+turn-analysis/gallery/ I worry that once Hermann Tilke gets his mitts on the track, he'll emasculate it, and turn it into a boring "Tilkodrome" Granted, it needs more runoff areas, and pits and grandstands...but I'd be thrilled to see this happen. Ender 8 Posted May 21, 2010 I want it back at Watkins Glen. That would be amazing. In other news, the Champions League final is tomorrow, and it's gonna be epic. I think Inter will win, but Munich won't lie down. *Listens to crickets as he remembers no one else on GB follows real football*

James the Defender 7 Posted May 22, 2010 (edited) LOL!!! Let's go Flyers! Let's Go! w00t! Up 3-1. Series back to Philly, baby! Also, my wife was watching some of Game 3. She says she likes ice hockey. It's a sport we can both get into. Finally! She hates football and dislikes baseball. Next season expect me to be a full hockey fan, complete with analysis. :) Edited May 22, 2010 by James the Defender

So they don't have to watch it!! See, that's just another outdated and imbecilic perception of the game. The damned thing was on FOX today. Not secreted away on ESPN3 or some DirecTV channel, but FOX. I'll bet twenty bucks the viewer ratings are higher than golf or the NHL playoffs or any of that most stupid excuse for sport, NASCAR. James the Defender 7 Posted May 23, 2010 There's a defense for it? I can go sit on the local highway and watch cars drive way too fast and see many crashes...for free to boot... Going fishing today! :D :D

Ender, I don't know if you realize it or not but that was a joke. I saw a friend of mine say that joke to another friend who's a big soccer fan, and he melted down. It was funny to see his reaction. I personally don't get into soccer. On a seperate note your prediction came true. I saw the final score scroll while watching the Twins game last night on FoxSports North. James the Defender 7 Posted May 24, 2010 (edited) I honestly don't watch NASCAR anymore. So, Jethro was over Billy-Bob's house, admiring his fine new Ford Mustang. Jethro said to Billy-Bob, "Hey, billy-Bob, that there's a nass car." Thus NASCAR was born! I caught three horseshoe crabs and a sand shark yesterday. The rest of the boat caught 4 drumfish: 14 lbs, 18lbs, 45 lbs, and 61 lbs. Caity caught the 14lb. And I almost went overboard laughing. Here's the story: The drum were passing under us, drumming. The males do the call to attract females and also while they are mating. They were making the deck vibrate with their calls, they were so close to the underside of the boat. So, after listening to the haunting sound for about ten minutes the captain says, without realizing what he says, "Yeah, they're really banging down there." I almost went over the railing laughing. Bad furday 57 Posted May 26, 2010 I thought that Monticello track had character - if they're building a new track in Austin ( Austin?!) unless the US has someone else design the track, I bet Tilke will design something characterless. Though to go from Jersey City to Monticello to Austin in the span of about two weeks...bit suspicious. Clearly, someone or some group there offered him the most money. As with everything Bernard Ecclestone does...one can only believe it, once they see it. I have no intention of visiting Texas.....but now I'm in a quandary. :p
