On a note of irony... I got a NASCAR-themed show to do at work today. :p

But at least it's Marcos Ambrose, so Aussie accent = win.

I honestly don't watch NASCAR anymore.

So, Jethro was over Billy-Bob's house, admiring his fine new Ford Mustang. Jethro said to Billy-Bob, "Hey, billy-Bob, that there's a nass car." Thus NASCAR was born!

Haha. :p

< loves Mustangs, by the way.

Good girl :p

If I wasn't so poor, I would trade in Larry for a 2011 one. I mean, it gets 31 MPG!!

wow...31...nice. How many ponies?

And, Larry? Have you named your car as my wife and I have?

Dunno.. I just saw it on a TV commercial. :p

And, yes, my car's name is Larry.

In sports news... Tigers back home after losing two to Seattle. Bah. Good news is, no more west coast trips for the rest of the season, and it's not even June yet, whoo!

I have to say I'm conflicted about whether I want the Flyers or Blackhawks to win the Cup. For a rather selfish reason, too, I admit, having to do with the Flyer's current coach (who the 'Canes fired last year mid-season).

One one hand, I want the 'hawks to win it all to spite Peter Laviolette. On the other hand, though, I want the Flyers to win to spite Peter Karmanos our amazing owner for letting go of an awesome coach, who won us a cup in '06 by the way, to hire back the coach we fired before hiring Peter.

I am thinking I might root for the Flyers... so let's hope they can catch back up.

Not following the Finals much, but there's a twisted part of me that wants the Flyers to win so that Hossa can make it to the finals 3 years in a row without winning a cup.

I think that's why my sister wants the Flyers to win, haha.

You know, I think the MLB should institute the instant replay for more than just home run calls.

And that's all I'm saying right now.

I love how Joyce and Gallaraga handled it! They were incredible! Classy guys, both of them. I don't know what else to say...classy, classy guys.

Bud Selig won't overturn it! That bugs me! He should overturn it!

Yeah, a lesser man probably would have punched Joyce or something. Instead, he just asked Joyce to give him a hug. Galarraga is indeed a classy guy.

The whole team is, really. I caught the first part of the game today before work, and the only hard feelings were from a few idiot fans who were booing Joyce.

And when Leyland let Galarraga bring out the lineup card to Joyce (who just happened to get the job of home plate today), Joyce was actually tearing up.

No, he won't probably overturn it (if he won't today, it's unlikely he will later), but he at least he is looking at the issue and the possibility that other plays may need instant replay. Hopefully something good will come out of all of this.

And, hey, Chevy still gave Galarraga a Corvette. :p

Looked like a Corvette Stingray to me. Chevy resurrected it, huh?

*shrug* I don't know. Corvettes aren't really my specialty. :p

I think the article I saw just said Corvette. I didn't catch the audio before the game yesterday (was in the kitchen).

I have to say, though, I kind of feel bad for Griffey. I mean, he announced he was retiring the same day all this stuff was going down with the media. And I think he got overlooked.

Griffey did his retirement on the sly because of all the negative attention he got for supposedly sleeping in the clubhouse during a game.

Do team stores dump players jerseys/shirts when they're no longer on the team or something? 'Cause Galarraga played almost all of '08 (and then didn't make the roster last year, and this year, till now), and I can't find a shirt anywhere. At least not on eBay or their official online store. Argh.

Anyway... who's excited for World Cup? :D

Bah.

Sat. at 2:30 on ABC, USA vs. England. Whoo!

And here's to hoping Galarraga's game last week wasn't a fluke. (Like Scherzer's 14-strike out game, and then he did awful the next game). Tigers need some wines here against the White Sox.

I'm so glad our bull pen is actually in decent shape this season.

My Phillies' pitching is getting better by leaps and bounds as the season goes on. The bats just need to heat up...big time.

Well, the Flyers lost... Oh, well. They made an amazing run to get there, from the shootout to get into the playoffs, then beating the No. 2 Devils, coming back from a 3-0 deficit to beat the Bruins and then handling the Habs...they were tired after game four with the 'Hawks. Oh, well...great post-season! I'm looking forward to the next season.

I just wish the Tigers had consistent starting pitching. It seems they all do great through 2-3 innings, then suck it up. And even if they do have a good start, there's no run support. And we still lose. Like today. :p

Perhaps we can get a series win against the Pirates this weekend.

Speaking of the Pirates...can you believe all the hype Stephen Strasburg is getting because he struck out 15 Pirates? Granted, it's his MLB debut, but any pitcher who can throw a fastball @ 98+ MPH and can have a hard diving off-speed pitch is going to strike out 15 Pirates... It's not a feat... Now, if he happens to do that against a good AL team, or the Cardinals, or another patient NL team, like the Phillies were in early to mid May, then I'll be impressed and I will come here and publicly apologize...but as of now, I am not impressed...He debuted against one of the bottom-feeders of the majors. Smart move, though, by the Nats. They've handled him expertly. Bravo to them.

My vote is still out on Strasburg. Give him another season or two...guys are going to start catching up to his stuff. Every time a batter and a pitcher meet, the pitcher has less and less advantage in each meeting. So, I'm curious to see him perform against a great team of great hitters.
