I still saw it on TV. :p

It was awesome, exciting 4th quarter.

Lions have a better record than Dallas. *snickers*

And on Sunday, the Packers will do their best to make sure Detroit keeps that status. :)

They're not as bad as their record shows. They've just had bad luck. And lots of penalties. :p

If they didn't shoot themselves in the feet so many times... who knows...

Anyway... I saw on SportsCenter today that Sparky Anderson has been placed in hospice care by his family for complications from dementia. Nothing more than that.

Prayers for him and his family.

That's sad to hear. Sparky was one of my favorite managers.

:(

Hospice care usually only means one thing, but still, it's sad. And still sudden. :(

There's a few good articles on FS Detroit.com about Sparky.

It's funny (not really but whatever), on Monday I had this feeling it was gonna be a sucky week. And it was. And is.

Joe Thornton was so screwed over by the stupid new head-hit rule. >:( He left the box, he passed Perron in a way that they were gonna collide, he braced himself, they hit - but Perron was looking the other way and didn't see, and is short, so his head met Joe's shoulder. If they'd been the same height they woulda bumped shoulders and been fine.

So, okay, he did hit Perron's head. But not with intent, and Perron returned to the game later. I get that they're trying to crack down on head injuries, so they felt there needed to be some punishment - but I think booting Joe from the rest of that game was more than enough! (The way we lost, I definitely felt sooooo sufficiently punished.) But the suspension is ridiculous. If Big Joe wasn't so damn big this would not be an issue. It was an unfortunate bad execution of what could have been a perfectly legal body collision, or maybe a standard two-minute checking. But no, he's being suspended for being tall. I can only assume they'll have to segregate the league now, so that six-foot players may only play with six-foot players, no six-fours allowed.

That is pretty lame.

On a brighter note, the Wild win again beating the Blue Jackets 3-2 in Columbus. :hehe:

And the Lions shot themselves in the foot again. *sigh*

At least next week they get Buffalo, ahahaha.

Don't get to up on that game Mara, I've seen to many strange things this season to say that the Bills game a an automatic W.

James, your Pack put a thumping on the Cowboys. And to think I had a feeling the Boys might've pulled a win from that game.

I was actually kinda worried myself. There's so much talent on that Cowboys team. I was afraid they were going to gel against Green Bay, but...now we head into the bye after a 45-7 trounce.

Bright notes: we have S Atari Bigby back and we finally have a good second CB in Sam Shields since Harris was injured. BTW, the Packers released Harris today. He was one of my favorite players because of what he did to the Seahawks in a playoff game after Hasselbeck's famous: "We want the ball and we're gonna score!" Yeah, Matt, score meaning six the other way via Harris. :p

And Hayes: Not too shabby victory against the Cards. Come from behind wins are always good.

Oh, I know. It would be just typical of the Lions to give a team its first win. :p

And now that Stafford is out AGAIN, and we have to use our third-string QB Drew Mediocre Stanton, it'll be interesting to see what happens, at the very least. :p

Plus my silly 'Canes can't seem to get any more than one game over .500 before they lose again.

Big game this weekend, Hayes. I'm curious to hear your take on Favre and if he should be benched and if Chilly should lose his job.

I hope for a good, clean game and a final score that reflects it. *tips his hat* Plenty of talent on your team, for sure.

While Farve's nembers so far, plus the fact it seems he's more banged up that at any point that I can remember, those would be things that suggest he should sit. However, he's still the best option at QB for the Vikes. If he'd get good line play from the O-line his numbers improve and we may get more wins, so I don't think he should be benched.

Chilly however is a different story. The guy is an average coach at best. Without Farve last season ther's no way the Vikes go 12-4, and I really doubt we'd made the NFC title game with T-Jack or Rosenfelds. The best thing that could happen is Chilly gets fired and Lesly Frazer get the head coaching job.

As far as Sunday goes, I give the Vikes the edge for being at home, and I don't think Farve wants to lose against Rodgers again. I expect a tight game though, and would not be surprised if the Pack win.

Yeah, this game could go either way. Really interesting game on tap. As long as Adrian Peterson is healthy, the Vikings always have a shot to win.
