I don't know what I can say to that. I'm sorry things are so messed up for you right now. :(

Sorry to hear that Unknown. Just a question, do you qualify for low income, subsidized housing?

So, we may be moving. Far, far away. Rob's contact in Klamath Falls, Oregon, came through and now it's just down to a salary that would make it worth our while. I don't wanna go. I mean, I grew up here, my family's here, and Oregon's really far away. And Klamath is a pretty small town. I'm used to a big city.

Indiana I wouldn't mind so much. At least it would be closer to home. His family is in Oregon and I know he feels bad not being able to help take care of his elderly father, so I'm trying not to be too opposed to the idea. But to my knowledge there's only one hospital in the town so I dunno if I'll have any more luck getting a job there than I have here. And the company would want him ASAP, so he'd be flying out as soon as his two-weeks-notice is up, leaving me here in Kentucky to get everything packed up and get the house sold. I'm also worried about transporting the critters. I hate long car trips, so if I'm going cross-country, I'd rather fly. But most airlines that I know of aren't really pet-travel friendly. One thing's for sure, I am NOT flying my pets in cargo. It's not happening.

Yeah, I remember when we moved to Cincinnati and I had my German Shepherd in my dad's Mini with me, him hanging his head out the window. All 6'4 of me and a 110lb dog in a car like that get you some strange looks. :p

I hope that everything works out JM. And how close will you be to the Beaverton/Portland area if you end up in Oregon?

Damn these ewokin' people.

The owners of the company that Nat works for called her in for a "meeting" today, when all it was was another attempt to get her to quit. They completely degraded her and made her feel like complete s***. They're trying to blame all this s*** that's happening within the company on her, when she doesn't have anything to do with anything any more. It's like these people don't even notice that she's almost 9 months pregnant, and that she's a severe migraine sufferer and she can't even be on the meds that she needs right now. They're just trying to strong arm her and there's not a ewokIN THING that I can do about it. This is one of those times that I really have to believe in karma man, cause I can't believe these ewoks have the nerve to talk to my pregnant wife like this.

have your wife document the conversation as best she can and date it. the company's digging their own grave here. as tough as it's going to be, the best thing she can do is hang in there and nail them to the wall for hostile work environment.

I hope that everything works out JM. And how close will you be to the Beaverton/Portland area if you end up in Oregon?

5.5-6 hours.

And besides, driving cross country with pets is a wicked adventure. ;)

the dog travels wonderfully in the car. she pretty much sleeps the whole time. it's the bird i'm not looking forward to traveling with. he screeches the entire half hour drive to the vet, and i don't wanna deal with that for a day and a half. best case scenerio is Rob drives the stuff and the dog, and i fly with the bird.

Du, they're doing just what I told you that they were going to do hun. They're trying to make her miserable so that she quits and then can't get unemployment. Like JM said, she needs to document it, especially if it gets to the point where she has no choice but to quit because the workplace is so hostile, she'll have proof that they forced it upon her and if she had her choice and wasn't treated the way that she was treated that she would still be working there

I know that's what they're trying to do, and we been making sure that we have what documentation we can get. It's too the point now where she's so strung out with the pregnancy, that both she and I are getting to the end of our respective ropes with everything. What we're going to more than likely do now is make an appointment with the EEOC, because they'll do an investigation that won't cost us anything to begin with. Then, if there is a valid claim, which I'm damn sure there is, we can decide what we want to do. All this s*** is really starting to wear thin man.

Rest assured, Du, they will burn in a very special level of hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater.

I know they will, I know they'll get what's coming to them, I just hope I'm there to point and laugh.

my parents' house got broken into yesterday. thankfully, the thieves didn't trash the house, but they did get my sister's brand new MacBook, my brother's DS, Mom's wedding ring, and a small TV from one of the bedrooms. the fam was out of the house for two hours and came back to their missing stuff. this comes on the heels of a friend's house in the same area being burglarized twice. i hope the cops catch the little pricks, but i'm not holding my breath. why can't people remember what they learned in kindergarten? if it's not yours, don't touch it.

A wedding ring? That is seriously low. May the swift hand of justice b****slap them.

That really sucks, JM. A similar thing happened to my grandparents a few years back while they were out of the house for a couple of hours. Some people are just pathetic.

they also got my dad's brand new camera. the whole area's been hit, some people more than once. and yet the cops are more concerned with which direction the cars are parked than trying to catch these guys.

Yea, in the States, if you park your car facing into traffic on the street, you can get cited for it. It's happened to me.

which, IMO is stupid on a side street with very little traffic, no center line, and in front of his own freaking house.
