Ah, weird. We don't mind that over here... especially on a residential street; I do that all the time outside my own house. :p

Imagine that, a little common sense. :p

Well, I live in a cul-de-sac so it's either turn around when I get home or turn around when I go out... And I decided that the former option is the easiest. :p

I can't stand, though when people are parked at the curb and there's two spots open in their garage and/or driveway...

Caity used to live in a development and that would be the situation at almost every house. Because of it, two cars could not fit down the road at the same time...it was supremely annoying when I'd go to pick her up...

There used to be this truck that would park on the corner about 10 feet from the fire hydrant, and its position made turning the corner onto my street a pain.

Today was the worst day to be on the road in Western PA. I swear, every single f-in moron was out driving today, and I narrowly avoided being in two accidents (not my fault), due to inattentive drivers. If there's one thing I can't stand, it's people that don't respect the fact that there are other people on the road.

Oh, and then, we're at Sonic, getting some limeades, and we're sitting there, talking, enjoying the weather, and this f-in JACK hole throws his empty sundae cup out his window and right on the ground. There's a goddamned trash can sitting no more than 10 feet away!! I thought my wife was going to jump through that dudes window.

And that would have been something to watch, being that she looks like she's toting around a basketball under her shirt. ;) :p

I used to work at a McDonalds with a small carpark with at least 7 bins... Don't get me started on people throwing their crap on the floor >.<

Cigarette butts are our nightmare at Wawa. They're scattered all about the parking lot when we have two containers specifically for them on the porch...and the butts are sometimes right at the bottom of the container or one foot away...grr...

ugh. i'll say.

hopefully an update on the burgler. a cop caught someone red-handed coming out the window of a house a few blocks away. the stupid idiot tried too go for the cop's taser so the cop shot him. not feeling to sorry for the thief, and i hope it's the same guy that's been stealing stuff in the area. and Thursday night when i was leaving my parents' house there were 6 cop cars at the end of the street. dunno what that was about, but hopefully it was something.

i've been planning a back-to-school dinner for the youth at church for two months. tonight was the night. alas, all the planning, preparation and work were all for naught since NO ONE showed up. i'm pissed. i put a lot of work into this and have been running around like mad all week trying to get everything ready. i sent invitations in the mail. then my partner and i went to everyone's houses with more invitations and talked to the parents. and no one came. i'm not doing anything elabarate like this again.

That surprises me some too. When I was at college, my church had a special mass on Sunday night for the students and afterwards the parishioners would cook dinner for the students and it was always full.

Lots of leftovers?

yup. the leftovers are in the fridge at church to be consumed at Correlation Meeting this Sunday. i might actually go to this meeting since there will be food. and after a 24-hour fast, i get pretty crabby and head home for noms instead of staying for the meeting.

That stinks, JM... :(

My congregation loves to eat and associate. In fact, one of our elderly sisters says our congregation is the "Most Eatin'-ist, Greetin'-ist, Meetin'-ist Congregation."

Everyone cooks a meal or some food, picks up napkins, plates, sodas whatever they can bring, and brings it to a meeting hall or a park for a good-bye party, or a welcoming party, or a just-cause-we-feel-like-having-a-party party. We have a blast. Usually we have the whole congregation show up, plus others from other congregations, and there's always food left over because there is just so much that people bring.

and my life continues to suck. a new hospital in the area posted 3 PRN Nuclear Tech positions. i applied for them all. i have now gotten 2 rejection letters and i'm betting the third comes either today or tomorrow. despite having gone down there twice (although i missed the manager both times. i was going to try again tomorrow since i'm off, but now i wonder if i should bother.) and having a friend who works there put in a good word for me. i'm starting to feel like i wasted the last 4 years of my life. *mopes*

So for the last 5 days, we've had contractors at the house tapping us in to the towns new sewage system. It's been awesome! (totally sarcastic) To connect us to the townships line, they had to dig from the side of our house, all the way to the back of our property, over 150 feet (50 meters for you Metric types ;) ). It's costing us over three-thousand bucks, of which we don't really have. We had to cash out two life insurance policies on my wife, and her parents fronted us the rest of the money. Of which I am really not happy about, because I hate owing family money. Especially in-laws. :p

Today they started on our basement, because we need a pipe run across the width of the house. So now we've got that going for us. Dust every where in the house and they blew a fuse, so we're without AC right now. I mean, the guys doing the work are cool, they're just doing their jobs, and one dude actually just went to Lowe's to get a new fuse. But let me give you the skinny about this new sewage system.

Two years ago, they held town hall meetings and the like, and from what I gather, the town told the residents that the sewage system was going in, and there was nothing to stop that. So what they wanted to hash out was how the fee's and whatnot were going to be done. What the towns-folk decided was that they did not want to pay a one time tap in fee to the towns system. So, now we're ALL stuck paying 60 dollars A MONTH MINIMUM for sewage. Now, I don't know about everyone else, but I know that that's really exorbitant. When I lived in VA, my water AND sewage averaged about 20 bucks a month. It's just ridiculous. It angers me. So, to finish, here's some visual evidence...

And for good measure, our basement:
