chicken do you have a game system at all? or are there any lounges with tvs where someone might plug one in? that might be your fastest way to meet people...that is, if you see one being used or have one you can set up...

She's right. Best way to meet people is to be gaming in the lobby. Also, look into what organizations there are on campus, go to the student life office on campus if you can't find a list online and find a group to join that suits your interests.

People don't have interests similar to mine. I don't like popular bands, I don't like popular movies, my sense of humor is bizarre (and unfunny), and I can't connect with other human beings. I don't fit in, have never fit in, will never fit in.

Dude, I think you're a pretty funny guy. And as for fitting in, DON'T!!! ewok fitting in!! Do your thing! I know that you have things that you enjoy doing. Pursue them! You'll find that there are other people out there that have the same interests. Don't feel like you have to fit in. You don't have to. That's the beauty of life. You can do whatever you goddamn well want to do. Free will is wonderful thing.

I know exactly what you're saying man. Independence is of paramount importance to me. I've tried to be different. I've spent years pursuing my own interests, perhaps avoiding falling into any stereotypes or cliches so that I could remain an individual. And now I'm isolated, a loner. A freak.

I've been talking to people. All of them have done the cheer up thing, and all of them have been over text or the internet, so it doesn't really help my loneliness. And can't really talk to my roommate about it.
