Reading through your posts, Unknown and Chicken, I wish there was something that I could add that would deliver some crazy insight. All I can say is this: from knowing you both on here, I think you're both a couple of really cool dudes. I think the dynamic that we have here is awesome, because I know that we all don't see eye to eye on many issues, yet for everything we have a differing opinion on, there's something else that we agree on, and share in common. I know that translating a relationship on a message board to "real life" is totally different, but really, when I think about it, if ever were to all get together, I'm pretty sure we would all just slide right into that comfortable...whatever. OK, for some reason my mind is not cooperating with me this morning.

I can say this, that no matter how bad things may be, there will always be something that happens in your life that makes you realize that it's totally worth seeing through. I think my brother can attest to that. I'm not going to put his business out there, but he definitely has something to add to this. And I will say that I have seen a total change in him since Adrian was born. You guys have plenty to offer, you do, and I can say that even though we've never met out in the real world. And trust me, neither one of you would "scare" me off. Believe me when I say, I've met people nuttier than you.

Stick with it fellas, know that you'll always have an ear here. :)

i'd like to add that Chicken, i think you're hilarious. sometimes when i read posts dripping with your biting sarcasm, i can't breathe because i'm laughing so hard. and Unknown, i have always been impressed with your intellectuallness. although we usually disagree concerning politics, i have always admired your passion for the subject and the time and research put into defending your stance. the both of you are wonderful people.

I'm mowing the lawn now of an older Indian family ( finished it about an hour ago this morning)...and the man must be old school indian, where mowing his own lawn is beneath him

It'd really help if they could speak english better. I have to make them say everything more than twice...in order for me to understand it. Also...what's with old guys and their lawns?

I've decided that A. I'll have a moss lawn. B. If not, I'll get a robotic mower C. If not that, then I'll tell the neighborhood kids, "I don't care how you do it, I just want it mowed and trimmed."

So, I had a job interview today, and didn't even make it to the second half of the interview due to some past financial bulls***. And, as if that wasn't bad enough, Nat calls me bawling when she gets outta work because her greedy, trampy, royal b**** of a boss cut her wage almost in ewokING HALF. In half!!! For no other reason than out of greed. This b**** is driving around a brand new Lexus SUV, and she doesn't wanna pay my pregnant wife who busts her ASS for that piece of s*** company. Anyone from, or ever planning on being in the Pittsburgh area, don't EVER use or recommend a company called advantage care rehab. If you know people in my area, get the word out. They're ewokin greedy assholes. And I can't wait to make a bunch of banners depicting that, and hanging them all over the area.

Here we are with a baby on the way, and someone can actually sleep at night taking away even more of our income. Capitalism FTW right? ewok this s***.

that might be worth a chat with the local labor board to see what her options are. maybe there's something in her contract (if she signed one) that can help. also, if the pay cut is an indivudual cut and not a company-wide cut, she may have grounds for a discrimination case due to her being pregnant. but alas, i am not a lawyer, nor do i play one on TV. definitely give the labor board a call though. and start job hunting.

I know she wasn't under any contract, but it definitely was not a company wide cut. They're citing the fact that she's not certified to handle HR type stuff as grounds for the pay, when in fact, she was HIRED for that from the beginning, and they full well KNEW that she didn't have any of those certs. She was making 12 an hour when she started, and they cut her down to 9. 5.25 an hour cut.

I've already told her to start looking for another job, but she's so worried that because she's pregnant, she won't be able to get one. I guess she doesn't believe me that a company can't NOT hire you cause you're pregnant. We've definitely got an uphill battle ahead of us.

Definetly check into it then. You can always sue the company on grounds of pregnancy discrimination if you can prove that them saying that she's not qualified was pretext and it's really because she's pregnant. Performance reviews are a good help in proving your case. Has she ever had a bad review?

I'm not really sure. I've been in touch with the PA L&I people, and I've been re-directed a few times. We're still waiting to hear back from the lawyer that we contacted. If anything, even if we can't quite prove pregnancy discrimination, I'm hoping that there's some grounds for something. I mean, there's absolutely NO justification for cutting her wage to something less than what she was making when she got hired. God I am just so f-in steamed about all this.

So, the labor lawyer called back, and we may have a case. If the woman that's taking Nat's job is NOT certified HR, then we have a HUGE discrimination case. Woman comes in, takes pregnant lady's job, who also isn't certified...there's no grounds for it. And Nat saw this woman's resume yesterday, and the only thing she's qualified in, according her resume, is medical billing. Which is totally NOT HR. So, we have to wait a couple weeks till this woman starts, when we officially find out whether she's certified or not. God I hope she's not, I really do. We might really be able to take this company down. Fingers crossed!!

even if New Lady is certified, you still may have a case if the company did not tell your wife she needed to become certified to keep her job and did not discuss options with her. many companies will offer to pay for additional schooling provided the employee agrees to work for them for X number of years.
