Princess 35 Posted June 18, 2004 Pick your favorite author. If s/he isn't listed, pick other and explain
Princess 35 Posted June 18, 2004 Stover by far. Zahn is good, but Stover has an edge over him
chozen 1 Posted June 18, 2004 Who?, Who? and who? Greg Keyes
Tsl 7 Posted June 18, 2004 Stackpole. He's not necessarily the world's most talented writer, but of all EU books, his X-wing books and I, Jedi were the ones I enjoyed most. His other stuff is pretty good too. Talion: Revanent (sp?) is uber spiffy, Once a Hero is okay, and A Hero Born is alright....just a tad on the uber slow side. CorSec 5 Posted June 18, 2004 Stackpole. He's not necessarily the world's most talented writer, but of all EU books, his X-wing books and I, Jedi were the ones I enjoyed most. Yeah. His work influenced me...somehow *vaguely points in direction of SN*
Andy 60 Posted June 18, 2004 Aaron Allston! Whooo! I know he isn't the best, but he is myfavourite. Hs books have a nice mix of comedy in them. hehe.
TheUnknown 39 Posted June 18, 2004 I'm limited here, but I'll go with Stover. I loved the allegory, tone, dark humor, verbal irony, etc. of Traitor.
Ana 15 Posted June 18, 2004 Stover, although Allston and Stackpole are both close seconds.
Princess 35 Posted June 18, 2004 I'm limited here, but I'll go with Stover. I loved the allegory, tone, dark humor, verbal irony, etc. of Traitor. Unknown, if you liked Traitor and Shatterpoint you'd probably like Heroes Die and Blade of Tyshalle. Both are by Stover and are awesome works. They're very graphic reads also. But awesome books. Both of them are on the top shelf of my non-SW bookcase
TheUnknown 39 Posted June 18, 2004 I haven't read Shatterpoint, either. Oh, and I'd still love to see what would happen should Stephen King write a SW book.
Andy 60 Posted June 18, 2004 Yeah, might be interesting. I think I'll read his Dark Tower novels when my mum has finished with them. And he's finished writing them, of course, lol.
TheUnknown 39 Posted June 18, 2004 Hvae you read anything else by him? Specifically, The Shining, IT, or Bag of Bones?
Andy 60 Posted June 18, 2004 I've read IT, and Pet Cemetary. That's about it. lol
Ender 8 Posted June 18, 2004 Stackpole is just awesome. Aside from his awesome EU work, his fantasy is some of the best I've read, especially Talion: Revenant and the DragonCrown War Cycle.
Bushy 0 Posted June 18, 2004 I've never read any EU books, so I voted "Other" just to see the results.

General Greivous 1 Posted June 19, 2004 I voted for Timothy Zhan, I've only read one of his SW novels, and it was great.
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted June 19, 2004 i went ahead and voted for Stover because of Shatterpoint (Mace rules!), but Tim Zahn, Allston, and Stackpole are all awesome as well
