Jedi Davideus 0 Posted March 25, 2005 Just an observation but did anyone else notice that in Episode 1, during the scene on Naboo where Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan battle the droids to rescue the Queen - Qui Gon force pushes a droid down and you can hear briefly Homer Simpson saying "D'OH!" Try playing that scene and see if you can catch that. I wonder why Lucas put that in?
Drake 53 Posted March 25, 2005 Didn't sound like a d'oh to me...
Chickenman 9 Posted March 25, 2005 Lucasfilm likes to hide inside jokes in their movies. For example, it is rumored that one of the ateroids in Episode V is actually a potato. In episode II, an asteroid is one of those cow things from naboo. In Episode VI, one of the Tie Fighters is supposedly made from a tennis shoe. However, sometimes fans imagine things that arn't there. I've seen that scene a million times and have never heard a homer d'oh.
GI_Admiral 2 Posted March 25, 2005 They did use a potato, they confirmed it in the documentary that came with DVDs
Chickenman 9 Posted March 25, 2005 Yes, it has been confirmed. I said "rumored" because some believe it's been cut, because they wasted thier sad, pathetic lives looking for it. Therefore, while it's confirmed that it was used in production, it is only a rumor that the potato made it into the final cut.
Jedi Davideus 0 Posted March 26, 2005 You're not listening carefully enough than. I indeed heared Homer Simpson say "DOH!"
Jedi Davideus 0 Posted March 26, 2005 A friend of mine confirmed it as well.
Chickenman 9 Posted March 26, 2005 But the thing is...once you start looking for it, you sometimes start to hear it when it's not really there. You could be right, and I'll look for it next time I watch TPM.
Andy 60 Posted March 26, 2005 I know what you are talking about. I always thought the droid(s) was/were saying "d'oh" too. heh
Mickey 1 Posted April 6, 2005 it sounds kind of like a robotic squeaky d'oh, I think of it more as a engyo sound (phonetically, of course). Some on told me to listen for someone on Home One in RotJ right before the Executor takes its plunge ... I forgot exactly what it was but I think a background yells out an explicative phrase. You might still be able to hear it if you watch it a couple times. And in the end celebration the Coruscant street rioters sound as though they are chanting "son of sons" or "son of suns." Tsl 7 Posted April 6, 2005 At the end of ANH, when Luke jumps down from his x-wing and is all excited because he got a lucky shot (), he call's out "Carrie!" instead of Leia. You probably all knew that though :p
Andy 60 Posted April 6, 2005 Ehh, I'm undecided on that one. LucasFilm and StarWars.com say he doesn't. Mark Hamil himself says he doesn't... But he does say something that sounds like it could possibly be "Carrie" but maybe not. Hmm... It's not very clear anyway, whatever he says.
Mickey 1 Posted April 6, 2005 thanks beeurd, though it was "die, something" I never really pick up the carrie, it sounds like "heyeh" to me
GI_Admiral 2 Posted April 6, 2005 Its blurred enough that if you wish for him to say Carrie he does... Im gonna watch RotJ and see about that Executor and final celebration...didnt know those
Mickey 1 Posted April 6, 2005 on the latest, you can also catch a gungan saying "weesa free" but that's quite obvious and annoying
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted April 6, 2005 i hate Lucas for putting that in there.

Andy 60 Posted April 6, 2005 i hate Lucas for putting that in there. I thought it was cool that he added Naboo in there. And the "Wesa Free!" bit was funny. :p
Alexander 0 Posted April 6, 2005 Gungans are the worst thing to happen to Star Wars. I'd rather have a movie with all Ewoks (well we did, two of them) than a movie with one Gungan.
