Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted August 9, 2005 hey, at least we're not all speaking French :p
Mirax 3 Posted August 10, 2005 lol Just because someone's a complete asshole doesn't mean they don't have a good idea, even if in Canada's revisionist history they were wasted when they came up with it. We just need a revolution to take back our country and remind everyone the founding principles and what really makes this country great. The countries not going to get better if we all drop out of the system.
Drake 53 Posted August 10, 2005 Actually, I was talking about the American founding fathers were wasted. The Canadian leaders were fine, upstanding citizens. :p
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted August 10, 2005 i like Tom Clancy's idea. 747 airplane + joint session of Congress = no more politicians :D
Andy 60 Posted August 10, 2005 That event was already planned, you know.... the general concensus was one of "it'll take more than a few nutters to stop us"
GI_Admiral 2 Posted August 12, 2005 i like Tom Clancy's idea. 747 airplane + joint session of Congress = no more politicians ← OMG Terrorist! Too bad that if we got rid of those politicians more would come. It's human nature.
Tsl 7 Posted August 12, 2005 Yeah, JM...how many times you gonna say that? You want the FBI following you or something?
Uncle Du 22 Posted August 12, 2005 But then we'd have a President like Jack Ryan. :D
Drake 53 Posted August 12, 2005 (edited) Man, that would be so cool. But only if it was the Harrison Ford Jack Ryan or possibly the Alec Baldwin Jack Ryan...just not the Ben Affleck Jack Ryan. Edited August 12, 2005 by Drake
Uncle Du 22 Posted August 12, 2005 For sure, definitely couldn't have the Ben Affleck version. Harrison Ford all the way.
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted August 12, 2005 heck yes. but no, i don't want the FBI following me. i just thought Clancy had an ingenious idea. *shifty eyes*
Tsl 7 Posted August 12, 2005 It's been done though, sort of, and it wasn't funny. Still isn't funny.
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted August 12, 2005 yeah, but he wasn't aiming at innocent civilians. but nevermind. forget i said anything.
Uncle Du 22 Posted August 12, 2005 But politicians are just innocent civilians too...right? :p

GI_Admiral 2 Posted August 13, 2005 (edited) Heh. Politicians aren't evil on purpose. :p Edited August 13, 2005 by GI_Admiral
Uncle Du 22 Posted August 13, 2005 (edited) They're victims of the system. It's like the saying, "Don't hate the player, hate the game." :p Edited August 13, 2005 by Du
Drake 53 Posted August 13, 2005 Then again, power corrupts. Politicians may start out "innocent" but after a year or two in the game, they're as rotten as the rest of 'em.
GI_Admiral 2 Posted August 14, 2005 Those who have power want to keep their power. Or however he said it Whether good motives or bad, politicians want to keep in their position.
Tsl 7 Posted August 14, 2005 Well...it is how they make their living, afterall. And a rather good living at that, for the higher up ones. .... *prods Drake* Run for office! :p
