Tsl 7 Posted December 6, 2005 lol, Luke is okay because he didn't start the war?! That's got to be the best argument evaar! Well....he might suck, but at least he hasn't started any wars....so he's awesome right? Yes, the Vong recognised the Jedi as their only threat at the time...unfortunatly, once Luke realized they were targeting the jeedai is when he decided to become the galaxy's most annoying hippy. Most convienient. And nobody can tell me that nobody in the SW galaxy could have figured out that the Vong could simply manufacture another voxyn. If they really wanted to do the mission properly, they would have had to kill the Queen and all living vornskyrs and, given the Vong's engineering talent, anything from which vornskyr DNA could be obtained. Face it. Luke is a freak.
Andy 60 Posted December 6, 2005 Well, my argument for the Myrkr mission, is that perhaps they knew that the Vong's strong religious beliefs would dictate that if the Voxyn project failed then the gods were against it anyway and they would not attempt to restart it. Being kinda part Vong, Tahiri would have known this. But, eh, I liked Star by Star. :p
Mara 29 Posted December 6, 2005 Yes, but an awesome freak. A freak of the Force. And I enjoyed Star by Star too.......I enjoyed all of the NJO novels.
Tsl 7 Posted December 6, 2005 I liked Star by Star too. It was probably the best of the series, however I still think the mission objective was a MAJOR plot flaw. I honestly don't think the writers thought it through at all.
Mara 29 Posted December 7, 2005 That's what happens when GL tells them what he wants to end up happening...and then the writer makes it happen the way he sees fit.
Tsl 7 Posted December 7, 2005 GL has nothing to do with the books. Except getting money off them...
Andy 60 Posted December 8, 2005 he was consulted on the NJO series. he specifically said not to kill Han, Luke, or Leia. And i beleive the asked him if they could kill Chewie.
Mara 29 Posted December 8, 2005 It's his universe... he gets to dictate major plot happenings.
Tsl 7 Posted December 8, 2005 But all he cares is they don't kill his big three. He didn't make up the NJO, as you said.
Mara 29 Posted December 8, 2005 Not the minor points, no.

Rogue 4 Posted January 5, 2006 (edited) Okay, so lets say that Luke's gone a little soft in his old age, he still rocked in the hand of Thrawn. Edit: accidentally called him a she, but that kinda kills my point doesn't it? Edited March 5, 2006 by ROGUEeleven (Sticks)
Mara 29 Posted January 5, 2006 Agreed. Only a little soft.
