Ayingel 24 Posted May 5, 2006 porque no hablen espanol? no es una cosa mala, pero...es cinco de mayo... trivia question: why do the mexicans celebrate cinco de mayo? hint: it isn't their independence day...
GI_Admiral 2 Posted May 5, 2006 Celebrate the dead. Death isn't a sad thing, it's a happy thing. They make alters and pray and then celebrate the life they had and the life they believe they will have. AKA: Day of the dead. What do I win? Happy Cinco de mayo! Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted May 6, 2006 no, Cinco de Mayo is not the same as Dia de los Muertos. i always thought it was their Independence Day, but i guess not.

Mara 29 Posted May 6, 2006 No, they celebrate the dead October 31st - November 2nd. Cinco de Mayo celebrates when the Mexicans defeated the French army...

Brumak 2 Posted May 6, 2006 Hell...I'm drunk as sith and I know the answer to the real reason why Cinco de Mayo is celebrated. It primarily originated in Puebla, state of Puebla, when the Mexican Militia beat France at The Battle of Puebla (1862). Mexican Independance Day is September 16. Wheeee.....I'm gone. (Mentally.)
