Officially, I'm reading Gormenghast, in a "Well, it's too big to take to work, but as soon as I'm at home and without internet or TV and have finished whatever I've been reading at work, I'll continue it". It's pretty good, but it's hard work. Unofficially, I'm reading Lords of Light, which is okay, but didn't grip me like I Am Legend of Brave New World did.

umm.... it's that book you keep stashed next to the bed to read until you pass out? *shrugs*

Okay, let me give you the quick run down of my last month of literature: (all by Anne Rice)

Blackwood Farm

Blood Canticle

The Vampire Lestat

The Vampire Armand

I tried to read Servant of the Bones but I just couldn't get into it. So I switched and now I'm waist-deep in Blood and Gold. Except for Servant, they've all been really awesome. Blackwood Farm took me a little time to get through because it was ultra heavy on the ghosts and kinda freaked me out (okay, once I sat straight up in bed in a panic because I thought someone was trying to skewer me with a gaint, rusted hook and hang me from the ceiling). But the one I'm reading now is actually rather soothing....

Okay, Finished Blood and Gold at 2 am, and yes, I cried for Marius.

Startd Queen of the Damned this morning. And because I was up until 2am and then awake again at 6, I slipped into some freaky, out-of-body, floating, dreamy state. It was fun. Now I'm groggy. And eating Sweethearts like they're the last source of sustenence on the planet.

I choose Jane Austen over that, but I haven't read it yet.

But I was BORED with Next. I like him, but he's kinda losing it as an author, he's getting too political. Why can't we have an individual fighting a giant super-computer... Wait... that was Portal.

Ew, Jane Austen? :p

Well, if you think about it.. most of his novels are a little bit political along with the science....

Yes, but JANE AUSTEN RULES.

And admit it, every guy would be wanting her if she were alive, and young.

And yes, his novels are political with science, but it was a large amount of science, with ethics, and a small dab of politics, but now the politics is now a chunk versus a dab. I say because of the large amount of politics, it's getting too real (which is why we read fiction).
