Andy 60 Posted January 16, 2007 (edited) Anyone seen it? Dunno if it has been broadcast in the US yet. Official site: http://www.bbc.co.uk/torchwood/ Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torchwood Basically it's a spin-off from Doctor Who, with the main character being Captain Jack Harkness, as introduced in a couple of Doctor Who episodes in the 2005 series. I am finding it to be very awesome. Currently catching up on it, so far I have only seen episodes 1 to 5, and the finale episodes 12 & 13. Ender 8 Posted April 5, 2008 They're showing the new season on BBC America now, and I've got it all on my DVR, but I haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

Ender 8 Posted April 5, 2008 One of my best friends is Welsh. He's small and hairy, like all Welshmen! :p

emrys 0 Posted April 8, 2008 welshness is good. torchwood is awesome! cant beleive they killed off those two! whos gonna replace them? maybe james marsters will stay on for next season? he was great in this series.
Andy 60 Posted April 17, 2008 Ooh I hope so, because James Marsters' character was quite good in the end I thought. I didn't like him at first though. Plus that'd quite funny cos Torchwood is kinda Buffy-inspired. :p
Ana 15 Posted April 17, 2008 I'm hoping they'll keep him as a recurring character, but I really don't see him as enough of a team player to actually join up without challenging Ianto to a duel over Jack. Possibly in a mud-wrestling ring, but still. I have horrible visions of them totally warping his character if he joins the team - suddenly his sex drive goes out the window and he's just snark, no kisses. Andy 60 Posted April 17, 2008 Well he's the same as Jack... They are all completely omni-sexual. They'll shag anything, lol... Jack's toned down because he's been on Earth so long :p
Andy 60 Posted July 3, 2008 So, the word on the street is that Torchwood series 3 is a mini-series of about 5 episodes with one story arc, which may even be shown all in the same week. Personally I'm a little dissapointed. With Doctor Who taking a break from the standard and having four specials throughout the year instead of a proper series, I was hoping there would be a decent run of Torchwood to make up for it. Oh well. What do you make of this?
Rouge77 0 Posted July 7, 2008 (edited) Personally I hope there will be more than 5 episodes to come... I have become quite fond of Torchwood and kind of like it more than Who itself. Perhaps the lack of more Torchwood to come is connected to Davies' coming retirement from the whole Doctor Who franchise? Andy 60 Posted July 8, 2008 I don't know... I thought it was a bit weird, seeing as he's not doing Doctor Who, I expected him to focus more on Torchwood :???:
Rouge77 0 Posted July 11, 2008 I feel that he might have just burned out when it comes to the Whoniverse. His next work is apparently return to his earlier themes, a TV series about middle-aged gay men apparently.
Andy 60 Posted June 30, 2009 I did think it was a bit weird that there are only 5 episodes this year, especially since there isn't a full series of Doctor Who either. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8125881.stm
Andy 60 Posted July 9, 2009 So, Torchwood: Children of Earth is currently airing in the UK. I kinda forgot to mention it. It's a serial aired in 5 one hour long episodes. I might add more about this later, but first: Major episode 4 spoiler: THEY JUST KILLED IANTO JONES!?
Princess 35 Posted August 28, 2013 I just can't get into this as much as I can Doctor Who
Andy 60 Posted August 29, 2013 It's lost its way a bit now I think, I didn't care much for the last series
