Master Hayes 1 Posted December 26, 2009 Chasing Amy. Just watched that last night. With the over exposure that Avatar has recieved, especially on Fox networks, I've decided to wait until it comes out on cable. I do hope it's a good movie, I'm just tired of all the commercial time it gets.
Ender 8 Posted December 26, 2009 Saw Avatar and enjoyed. It definitely had the same plot as Pocahontas, though.
Bad furday 57 Posted December 26, 2009 Some say....that Avatar could be called Dances with Fern Gully ;)
Uncle Du 22 Posted December 27, 2009 I've heard great reviews all around, and it seems everyone is saying that Cameron has done something new and astounding that's never been done before, but when it comes to plot, I'm really not buying it. As for the effects and stuff though, I have heard that they're pretty revolutionary.
Mara 29 Posted December 28, 2009 Yeah, the special effects is the main reason I want to see it.
Drake 53 Posted December 29, 2009 Just got back from seeing it 3D IMAX and it was astounding. The plot was predictable in parts but I didn't care. The overarching story was beautiful and the acting was great. The visual side of things was, as has been said, top-notch. I honestly barely noticed the near 3 hours fly by because I was so caught up in this movie.
Uncle Du 22 Posted December 30, 2009 I need to see it this week.
Mara 29 Posted December 30, 2009 Yes, yes, and with my theater gift card from Christmas, I can splurge on 3-D or IMAX without feeling guilty, muwahahahaha. Now to just drag my sister with me.

CorSec 5 Posted January 4, 2010 So saw Sherlock Holmes and loved it. Couldn't stop laughing I would agree with this assessment. I wouldn't call myself a Holmes purist or anything, but I didn't have high expectations. They pulled it off though.

Uncle Du 22 Posted January 13, 2010 Paranormal Activity Definitely not as scary as they wanted you to think it was. There were definitely some creepy parts that gave me goose bumps, but it didn't keep me from sleeping.
Mara 29 Posted January 13, 2010 Is there any movie that keeps you from sleeping? :p
Uncle Du 22 Posted January 14, 2010 (edited) One movie that did that to me was Event Horizon. I know if I watch it now it wouldn't keep me up, but I think I was about 18 when I first saw it, and for some reason it scared the sith outta me. Or scared the sleep outta me. Whatever. ;) Edited January 14, 2010 by Uncle Du

Master Hayes 1 Posted January 19, 2010 Is there any movie that keeps you from sleeping? Ahhh.... The Grudge creeped me out for like 2 weeks. The movie on it's own wasn't scary, but that damn sound that chick made.........I could hear it when I'd try to fall asleep. I hadn't been that bothered by a movie since I saw the very first Nightmare on Elm St when I was 12.
