Chapter 2: Forges of Ithyari

Layla looked him up and down, resisting the urge to laugh. "Like Aston Kendall, although I don't think he's packing as much firepower."

Tak smirked. "So it's the guns that got you, eh? Or maybe my dashing good looks and charming personality? Or was it my strong sense of humility?" He chuckled. "Sorry, couldn't keep a straight face."

Brier hesitated for a moment before returning to her things, getting various small, compact Intel toys in case she needed them, as well as a comm that had the frequency of her coworkers on the planet, in case she got in a fix. She put them in various hidden pockets, making sure they didn't protrude or look out of place in a form fitting outfit. Glancing in a handheld mirror to look herself over, she nodded before heading over to the shuttle, her head raised high and aloof.

Szen hurriedly put most of her combat things into her bags. She started putting on her civilian clothes from the last time they were in town, pausing every so often to stretch her sore muscles. She pulled out her bangles and unwrapped them, putting them on her wrist. For fun, Szen stepped outside of the tent and shook her wrist, watching the bangles collect the light and reflect it back in different colours. Going back to check her things, she made sure she had her comm and her ID in her pockets. Szen was carrying a blaster, but she felt confident about protecting herself after sparring such a formidable opponent last night that she almost took it off. And it isn't like I'm going to be alone anyway... Checking her area again, Szen made sure she had everything she needed and headed to the shuttle with her bag.

Jaim threw on his leather jacket, checked his armaments, and walked out to the shuttle.

"Where we off to now?"

Aeric appeared behind him. "Docking Bay 92. Nima, Jya, if you'd take the helm?"

As they moved to pilot the shuttle Aeric spoke to the remaining members of the squadron.

"Okay guys, once we land I want everyone leaving the bay periodically in groups of four so we won't attract attention. We'll separatly make our way to the Planetary House. Once there, I don't want a single one of you even glancing at a Revenant that's not in your group. Aston will then approach a terminal and upload a worm that should shut down all the cameras on the floor. When that happens, we make our move."

Brier raised an eyebrow, and spoke up, keeping her voice soft and gentle, "Captain Tunon, a word in private, if I may? When you have a moment?"

Kaden sighed to himself and went to tuck away Artie somewhere safe, after telling him to power down for a while. However, he still would carry a commlink that was linked to the droid.

He put away his dinner items and went through his bag, knowing full well that all he had in there in the form of clothes was his old Golden Eagles flightsuit. There were no civilian clothes in there. Kaden turned around, glancing at all the others, well, the males, checking to see who might be closest to his own height and weight.

It'd be embarrasing for him, but he knew he would have to ask to borrow someone's attire. If he wanted to blend in, he couldn't go around in a drity old yellow flightsuit or even the dirtier gray one he was currently wearing.

Seeing Tak off to the side speaking to Layla, Kaden shouldered his bag and headed over to them. He could have asked Captain Tunon about it being a problem, but Tak was a lietenant now. He had some responsilbity.

"Excuse me, Lieutenant? If I could have a word.."

Takeshi turned to the voice behind him. It was Kaden. "Absolutely. What's up, Officer?"

He took a deep breath before speaking. "I was wondering if you wouldn't happen to have any extra clothing with you? All I have is what I am wearing and another old flightsuit." Kaden left it at that, figuring if he needed to explain, Tak would ask.

Somewhat surprised at the request, Tak nodded and said, "Uhh, yeah sure." He brought out his pack and took out some clothes, handing them piece-by-piece to Kaden. "I take it you didn't bring your own set of civilian clothing?"

Kaden paused, taking the items of clothing. "I don't actually have anything else besides these."

Nima adjusted her harness over the skimpy dancing outfit that she was wearing. She keyed the comm. "Welcome aboard Secura Airlines. Please fasten all harnesses for takeoff. Flight attendants will be around shortly to take your meal and drink orders. Vomit bags are placed under the seats. If you miss the bag, you're cleaning it up. So sit down, buckle up, shut up and hang on. We're taking off."

Nima chuckled to herself as she started her preflight check.

Brier spoke quietly to Aeric away from the others, then, after a few minutes, nodded and they both returned to the group. Brier went on in the shuttle and got ready to take off, lost in her own thoughts, not paying much attention to the others.

Szen looked over at Captain Fae and frowned at her expression. She leaned over and tried her hand at making conversation. "Is everything alright?"

"Well next time be sure to pack for this sort of mission. Even if you think it's going to be a standard fighter fly-and-shoot mission, pack it anyway because you never know." Tak glanced back at the shuttle. "Get changed fast. It looks like we're about to take off. Dismissed."

Leaving Kaden to change, Tak and Layla returned to the shuttle and strapped in their seats.

Kaden saluted and headed out to the jungle to quickly change. Next leave, I'll have to get some credits together, get some cheap clothes...

When he was done, he tried to survey himself in Tak's gear. Not exactly his style and he felt weird in them, but at least he hoped he would blend in now and not stick out like a bright yellow fighter pilot. Kaden stuffed his old gray flightsuit in his bag before shouldering it and heading to the shuttle.

He found an empty seat near the back and strapped in.

Brier looked over curiously, and nodded, putting a smile back on her features. "Yeah... I'm just thinking, that's all. Speaking of which..." She furrowed her brow as she saw Kaden enter the shuttle. Murmurs so only Szen can hear her, "What the Sith...? Doesn't he have any clothes?" Glanced back over at Szen, confused.

Szen glanced back at Kaden as well. "I guess not." She looked back to the captain. "At least they mostly fit him. Maybe I'll have to help him with that."

As he settled in to wait for takeoff and the ensuing trip, he moved his bag over to his lap and started rifling through it. He picked out a ration bar. His last one. Sighing, Kaden returned it to its place, deferring to wait until he really needed it.

Then he sat back in his seat, trying to get comfortable with "his" new clothes. They weren't a perfect fit, but at least they were a little loose. It would help disguise the fact that the pants were slightly too short. It was better than nothing; there wouldn't be any way Jaim or Aston's clothes would fit him.

Reaching a somewhat good position, he leaned against the back of the seat and closed his eyes.

Nima waited until everyone was seated before she pressed the comm button. "Ok ladies and gentlemen, we're about to embark on a highly specialized mission. The refresher should be located at the back of the shuttle, along with a food prep station. Oh wait, no, this is an economy shuttle. So try to make yourself comfortable while we see the sites of Ithyari. Windows are located on each side of the cabin, so take some time to snap some holos to show the grandbabies some day. Thank you for flying Revenant Airlines and have a fuzzy day!"

Nima glanced at Jya. "Let's do this." She engaged the engine and headed towards docking bay 92.

Nat was still strapping in when Nima took off, and rolled his eyes at the message sent over the ship intercomm.

Have a fuzzy day... Sometimes he wondered just what they put in those ration bars. Whatever it was it was probably illegal in at least ten systems.

Brier cracked her neck and spine before settling in, and closed her eyes as the shuttle took off. She smiled faintly as she thought about life outside of Intel, and allowed herself a few moments of mental escape from the mission as they flew, ready to get on with this mission and get some stuff accomplished.

The shuttle took off and made its way over the treetops of the surrounding conifer forest. They were en route to the Planetary House in Ithyari's capital city of Valiria. Historically, the ancient city stood as the seat of Ithyari government for generations before the Empire took over. After several minutes of low altitude flight, they were afforded a view of the approaching city. Valiria was a much larger and grander city than Yarin. It lacked a surrounding wall and, instead of having predefined tiers or segmented communities, it was all urban sprawl. The residential and commercial areas were all built up around the enormous Planetary House in the middle of the city. It looked like it used to be some kind of palace at one time before being converted into a public building and seat of Imperial power.

Nima piloted the shuttle towards a spaceport next to the Planetary House, received clearance to land using a false transmitter ID, and brought it in for a landing in docking bay 92. After shutting the vessel down and dropping the landing ramp, the Revenants prepared to disembark.

Tak turned to Layla. "Wanna be my buddy?"
