Uncle Du 22 Posted December 14, 2012 My next car will have all wheel drive Look into Subaru. They're good cars. And also, if you can believe it, the Ford Edge is actually pretty awesome too. Had one for three months as a rental in Seattle and took her up in the mountains, in the snow, and she performed great. Thanks! It's also been decided that I will be proposing my thesis the third week of January. My birthday is January 5th, a Saturday. This means that when I recover from my hangover the following Sunday, it is officially time to panic. So until then, live it up!
Princess 35 Posted December 14, 2012 I would look at Ford before Subaru. Foreign cars are bad :p
Uncle Du 22 Posted December 14, 2012 LOL. And Ford has the Sync system, which is actually pretty awesome. I gained a lot of respect for Ford in the last few years.
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted December 14, 2012 Of the three big American auto makers, I'd go with Ford hands down. I once owned a Nissan that I loved. Good, solid car.
Bad furday 57 Posted December 14, 2012 I do like Ford's new Focus. Especially in the brighter of the two reds, and in hatchback. Looks delish! :D
Uncle Du 22 Posted December 14, 2012 You know I actually like the new Dodge Dart. But I'm sold on my Vee Dubs. I would like to get a new Passat, but it's really nice not having a car payment.

James the Defender 7 Posted December 14, 2012 Just got myself a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor and sold the '95 Mustang GT. The Police Interceptor is faster than the 'Stang!
Princess 35 Posted December 14, 2012 I priced the Chevy Equinox today. I need to pay off my credit cards if I'm going to get one of those. I got a B in healthcare finance!

Pandora 77 Posted December 14, 2012 You know I actually like the new Dodge Dart. But I'm sold on my Vee Dubs. I would like to get a new Passat, but it's really nice not having a car payment. I want a VW turbodiesel. Test drove a Jetta last year and LOVED it. I really liked that they're designed by people with $4 per liter of gas but made (mostly) here. Atlanta is the plant that primarily supplies the Memphis market, I think... But yeah, no car payment is nice. Gotta love my 13-year-old Dodge. Don't love what this ethanol crap is doing to my poor engine though...
Ayingel 24 Posted December 15, 2012 What is it about the holidays that brings out the loonies?
Pandora 77 Posted December 15, 2012 I have a theory, from my retail days. It's not that it brings out different people, it's that relatively normal people all turn retarded.
Pandora 77 Posted January 7, 2013 My thesis proposal meeting was just officially scheduled for January 23 at 9 am. OMG the panic has officially set it!
James the Defender 7 Posted January 8, 2013 Yes, dates will do that. I remember the day our seminar proposal was due. Nervous, although my thesis was solid. No matter hwo confident one feels, that panic is always there. Caity took a bad fall on the ice yesterday. We went to the hospital today for X-rays. Hip contusion and hip strain. Yeesh. James the Defender 7 Posted January 14, 2013 Started off well. Services and then a friend came over to watch the games. During the games we discover our cockatiel, Cookie, is dieing. He's still hanging on, but a friend who is a bird expert said it will not be long before he is gone. He's been with us for 21 years, that little bird has. Been a constant in our lives. He's been in the house for all kinds of major events in my life: graduations, baptism, marriage. I will miss him. I'll never forget this one time in September 2009 when I was in the living room preparing to give my first public talk on at our Sunday services. All the gestures I made, he mimicked. He was talking and going off, and whistling while I was practicing. It was so funny. A friend of ours said if I was sick that day the bird could give the talk. I just laughed.
