Eh...well...it's the same as Congress trying to arrest Bobby Fischer(sp? name? famous chess player...) for playing Chess in Yugoslavia when sanctions were still in place...

What else is new? Can't school shooters ever NOT like Hitler? Stalin, Mousillini, Kim Jong Il and Castro are just sitting there gathering dust.

These lawmakers really need to get their heads out of their asses

Well, we are talking about the same party that tries to tell competent, consenting adults who they can and can't marry, when they can end their marriage, what sexual positions they use, and who they can and can't have sex with. I'm not surprised.

NAFTA is just an excuse for big businesses to move jobs out of the US to places where the standards on working conditions aren't as strict, restrictions are lower, and they can pay their workers next to nothing.

Would you rather have everyone suffer by having high trade tariffs?

if it means cutting down on sweat shops and child labor and having better working conditions.

Yes I'd Rather have tarrifs...Not raising super high tarriffs but enough to keep businesses from just leaving the States and going to Mexico to pay people less money for more working hours under probably worse conditions...

not everyone would suffer...it would truly depend on each person.

Not just Mexico but Canada too. All of the big American businesses would pull out and our economy would crash.

it'll even itself out eventually, if you think about it.

The companies leaving the developed countries for cheap labour are providing a boost to the ecomomies of the places they move too. Given a couple decades, they will probably be moving back because the labour cost will no longer be low enough to outweigh other costs.

i'm all for helping other countries out. but we need to focus on America and make sure America is doing well before we send money and/or jobs out of the country. it doesn't do us any good to boost the economies of other countries like Mexico and Canada if our own isn't doing very well. and most Americans aren't going to care that we've helped a less fortunate nation if they can't find a job to support their family since all the jobs are going abroad.

Hey I didn't say that was why people moved away. They move away simply to save money. That is all.
