Yeah. I was wondering why Canada was doing that too. I guess for Canada, one could say we're just looking out for our neighbour like they do for us. But what has the States done for Australia?

We trade crap back and forth, lol.

Besides, the real reason countries do that is for the political connections it makes and the looking good to voters/the world in general factor. And I guess if in the future if Canada or Australia had a need, the US is obligated to return the favor and all that too.

Yeah, all countries help each other out in time of horrid disasters like this. Besides, we're spending all our money in Iraq

Here is someone's post on another forum that I found interesting:

The Canadian government offered any help it could give, including the best disaster response team on the planet, kept ready to go on a moment's notice to anywhere in the world - and the US government won't answer the phone to let them across the border.

The Russians offered their own disaster relief team. The US turned it down, refusing to allow it to enter the USA.

The UN offered any help it could arrange. Unlike Canada, they got an answer: "Thank you for your offer" - but all further questions like "what do you need, and where" have been ignored.

Venezuela offered assistance. Turned down.

The Swiss? The French? The Germans? The English? The Austrians? Same deal.

The massive right-wing spin machine, that fought in court for it's right to falsify the news, is focusing *all* reporting on looting, violence... and how the world is never there to help the USA.

I'm starting to think that President Bush wants people to suffer.

And then there's Bush's comments to ABC: "I'm not expecting much from foreign nations because we hadn't asked for it. I do expect a lot of sympathy and perhaps some will send cash dollars. But this country's going to rise up and take care of it."

Someone get that stupid ass out of the White House. And by "that stupid ass", I don't just mean Bush...I mean his whole stupid ass party.

It's not so much the party, as it is the guys leading the party. If you really get to the basics, the Republican Party has some respectable views. Unfortunatly, the leaders of the party have twisted these views into horrid monstrosities for political gain.

Oh. My. God. How can he do that? Doesn't he care about the people who voted for him? And now they are dying, and he's too high and mighty to accept help?? His people are dying and he went let anyone help him.

If anything would get him impeached, I think this would be it!

Oh. My. God. How can he do that? Doesn't he care about the people who voted for him?

Err...no. All he cares about is furthering the Right's agenda. All he cares about is making his buddies rich...er. He could care less about the people. Like how he pretends that he actually gives two siths about abortion and gay marriage. Nope, he just wants the votes from the religous right.

If anything would get him impeached, I think this would be it!

Or, you know, the stock fraud he committed on June 20, 1990. You know, for $804,327 more than Martha Stewart. Yeah, that was good. To be impeached, he needs to have done something criminal. Not accepting money for this isn't criminal. Morally, it is. Legally? Nope. But stock fraud? Yeah...that's not all that great.

Not many do. It's one of those things that the Republican Party likes to keep under wraps. However, if a Democrat had done it, they'd all be calling for his impeachment.

It's not exactly proven, but while he was CEO of an oil company, he sold a tons of his stock in the company. A week later, the stock plummetted. They launched an investigation, but since you know, he was the President's son...I doubt it was a very heartfelt invetigation.

Investigator: *Glances over his shoulder.* George W. Bush. Did you commit stock fraud?

Bush: *with a delightful glint in his eye* Nooooooo. *said innocently*

Investigator: ...okay, that wraps up this investigation. I'm sorry to trouble you.

Bush: *with a maliscious grin on his face* Oh please, investigator, it was no trouble at all.

pfft....they can't even get rid of Ohio's governor and he's already been convicted of fraud on his eithics forms, plus he's being investigated for essentially scamming the state out of money.

I couldn't give two siths about what happens to Taft. All he seems to have done down here is raise taxes. I mean, taxes here in Hamilton County are worse than the taxes where I used to live in Maryland.

Yes! They can't raise taxes anymore! Our taxes are unbearable! Through the roof! As we've been told by Bush and his cronies, we seriously need tax cuts, because our taxes are horrendous.

But wait! Out of the 30 countries in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (an organization made up of countries with democratic governments and market economies. They produce 2/3 of the world's goods and services. They're pretty much the wealthiest democratic, market economied countries in the world.) guess what? We pay less taxes than 28 of them. We pay less taxes than Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Austria, France, Belgium, Norway, Luxembourg, Italy, Greece, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Hungary, United Kingom, Germany, Turkey, Spain, Canada, Iceland, New Zealand, Switzerland, Protugal, Poland, Slovak Republic, Australia, Ireland, Korea and Japan.

Only Mexico pays less taxes than us.

Clearly, we need a tax cut. Or better yet, we need two tax cuts.

As for me, I'm fine with taxes. Perfectly fine with them. The government programs the money goes to really help people. They really help America work. Granted, I've never had to go through the grueling process of doing taxes, but so long as the taxes arn't horrendous, I'm fine with giving money to the government.

That and he completely ewoked over the public education system, has ignored the Supreme Court's rulings, and attempted to completely ewok over the healthcare system.

Of course all of that was legal....except that Supreme Court dealie. That's not just him though, it's the entire state gov't. Makes you wonder why we even bother to have checks and balances if they can simply ignore them, doesn't it?

I guess everybody's so used to crooked politics that nobody even cares anymore.
