hhawk 0 Posted April 4, 2008 I think that the seperate forum idea is great! All of the current active members will not mind helping I am sure! I dont mind! I do thing that we need to get GB out and get it a little bigger! Well... I am here to do whatever!
Mara 29 Posted April 4, 2008 Okay, cools. Just ask if you have any questions, though. : ) I'm not sure how far this software lets you do "sub" boards/forums... And depending how much you extend the Roleplaying, it could get its own category... Yes, we have sub-forums... There's even a sub-sub-forum somewhere. lol Well, I wasn't sure. Proboards only has sub-boards...no more. (But version 5 will have unlimited, yay!) And I think the main problem is member activity, as it seems new members are always still joining. Hopefully more variety will get people posting more, in new areas. I agree with the baby steps idea. Perhaps just adding in a couple major fandoms for now, to see how it goes. You don't want to add everything at once, and find people aren't using those new boards.
Drake 53 Posted April 4, 2008 If we're planning for more people and the potential expansion we're talking about here, we're going to need a specific set of rules and regulations that all of our current and future staff will need to read, learn and follow. We had a list of rules at one point. I don't know where they went but they either need to found/edited or rewritten.
Andy 60 Posted April 4, 2008 (edited) Agreed. I'm currently messing with member groups/ranks at the moment, so some things MIGHT change, but I'm trying to change as little as possible at this point. Edited April 4, 2008 by Andy
Mara 29 Posted April 4, 2008 (edited) I want my pretty purple back. Oh, rules are always nice. Edited April 4, 2008 by Mara

Andy 60 Posted April 4, 2008 (edited) If anybody has any ideas for rank names then let me know. Currently staff ranks are: Community Manager - me. I'm all-powerful, and such. Administrators - any other admins. They will be Global Moderators and have some Admin access. Senior Moderators - these guys were called Global Moderators before, but now they'll be in charge of a bunch of forums/categories. Moderators - as before, these are not global mods, and only moderate one or two individual forums. Non-staff member groups are: V.I.P. - special people. mostly people who have donated to GB Veterans - Yeah, you've lost your purpleness, sorry. But we still love you all. Members - normal members, duh. New Members - members who haven't posted yet. I'll delete them every now and then. bwahaha Validating - people who haven't confirmed their email address, so they only have limited access to the boards. Guest - Just register, will you? Banned - Be gone with you. Also, there are the post ranks that need changing to something more neutral, unfortunately, as they are mostly in-jokes: no rank for 0-4 posts Blue Lomin Victim - 5 posts Insta-Clone - 25 posts - 1 pip Blended Ewok - 100 posts - 2 pips Shaved Wookiee - 250 posts - 3 pips Jedi Punk - 500 posts - 4 pips Permanent Resident - 1,000 posts - 5 pips Veteran - 5,000 posts - 6 pips Legend - 10,000 posts - 7 pips Impersonating a Deity - 20,000 posts - 8 pips (Please Inform the Admin That a New Rank is Needed. Thanks) - 50,000 posts - 9 pips Edited April 4, 2008 by Andy
Mara 29 Posted April 4, 2008 Yes, I am confusing everybody. And I'm having the purple. Awww... can I be blue then? As for the ranks... I think Global Moderator is better. Better describes them. To me, if you have Senior mods, then the others should be Junior Moderators... to my thinking. As for the normal ranks (Blue Lomin to Jedi Punk; I think the rest are general enough)... It would depend on how general you want them, or if you still want a theme?
Andy 60 Posted April 5, 2008 But what the Global Mods are now, won't be Global Mods when we change around fully... The current Administrators group will be the global mods. Might change admins to something like "Community Supervisor", nut I don't know... And I don't like "Junior Moderators", sounds like they aren't very important. :p
Tsl 7 Posted April 5, 2008 Sounds good. I've sort of pooped out on star wars by now. The books no longer hold my interest like they did before where I was running out and buying them the day they were released and reading them by that night. I couldn't even tell you the name of the last book to be released. Some of the books were so poorly written... *shudders* I'm much more into other things now, like anime, so it would be fun to have some people around who are also fans. I've thought of finding a good anime forum, but I think I'm too lazy and not online enough anymore to get involved in a new community, lol. Hell, I'm not even really involved in this one now. :p
Andy 60 Posted April 5, 2008 Same here, to a certain extent... If you have any anime-loving friends tell them to get here soon... and I can make an anime forum, yay! lol I've swapped a few forums around as well, so sorry for confusing everyone. Might change again though... Remember I am open to suggestions. ;)
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted April 5, 2008 so what privliges and buttons will the different mod groups have?

Andy 60 Posted April 5, 2008 Well, then name the admins the Global Mods. But they aren't just Mods And D, that might work... Hmm.
