Jake Durron 23 Posted April 23, 2008 (edited) Ok so the title was a bit of a gimmick to get everyone to read this. So here's the deal. I'm not a mod, I am not meaning to offend anyone with this message. I don't have the authority to order anyone to do anything. But I do have a very simple suggestion that I think we all need to take to heart. I think we all, as a group, need to take a deep breath, and relax. Galactic Basic has always been a beacon of light in the sucky darkness of RL. It has been a meeting place of friends for over six years. Its been our second home. Its also been a place to come and get a little laugh therapy and have our friends and chosen family close. It was pointed out to me tonight that no matter how much people can get onto you and on to your nerves they're still your friends and family. But I think a lot of us, myself most definitely included, have forgotten this. We've all grown up a lot from those good ol days where we wouldn't even consider the idea of sex... ewww cooties... and the worst thing anyone could do was put the lovey hearting face to other members... hehehe we haven't done that in a while. Now I've seen and been a part of a lot of nasty letters and messages to other members. Why don't we just take a big breath, hug, and try to remember that this is a Star Wars-and-soon-to-be-other-fandoms-that-we-haven't-all-agreed-on-yet, forum, not a government or life or death commitment. I'm not about to marry any of you and I'm sure you feel the same about me. Seriously ya'll, GB has always been a place of refuge for me. I've been through six moves, two religions, over 10 relationships, a rape, a miscarriage, high school, my recent news of infertility and my parents divorce and everytime I needed a laugh I always thought of my friends here on gb. So I am offering my apologizes to people that I have recently pissed off and am offering a truce. I say we try to keep laughing, keep smiling, and keep going for at LEAST another 6 years. Now...... TheUnknown 39 Posted April 23, 2008 I agree. GB has been a refuge from the s***tyness of life. It's been somewhere were I could vent and bare a little of my soul. It's especially nice because I'm typically a very reserved person (ie. I am not out to any of my friends, family, co-workers, etc., even my gay aunt).
