She bit the inside of her cheek, looking around the seating area, then dug through her bag for the sketchpad she was working on. * * * * * * * Finished, Sean took his glass of iced tea into his dim living area and sat down. He moved the glass around slightly in his hand, letting the ice cubes gently clink against the side. Such a beautiful sound. A lot better than what most of his students were listening to nowadays. Taking a sip, his glanced over to his coffee table, where various remotes and electronic gadgets were laid out in neat rows on its clean surface. He set down his glass on a coaster then reached for the second cell phone on the left and flipped it open. Sean dialed a number, the only one in the phone's address book, that hooked to the main line where he knew some of the Brotherhood were staying. * * * * * * Once home, Joseph joined his mother for dinner, each of them discussing their days. Before anyone could say anything about teaching him, he added, "Not for lack of trying, either. I'll just hang out on the beach...or maybe go for a swim. Watch out for sharks or something." Vergere 1 Posted May 24, 2008 Kelly smiled and, seeing how Lance was still sticking around, motioned him to get out before she hurt him. With a grin, Lance obeyed and closed the door behind him as he walked out into the main area of the Cove. **** As they walked out, Catalina was busy serving various people. However, she slipped in something someone had spilled on the floor, but instead of just falling like almost anyone would have, it looked like a scene straight out of a movie. She managed not to drop anything on the ground, and didn't ever actually fall, either. Just a lot of random and interesting maneuvers to keep her balance and make sure the order she was carrying didn't go flying across the room. As she regained her balance, she glared darkly at the spot that tried to make her fall before continuing to the table she was headed to before the incident. "So out of curiosity, how long have you known?" To anyone but them, it would seem an innocent question and part of an earlier conversation, the latter of which being true. However, it referred in no way about them being mutants. ***** The manager returned a bit later with August's meal. "Let me know if you require anything else, ma'am." He smiled and went to help another customer. ***** Catalina returned with the drinks and fries for Marcus. "Here you go... Oh, hey Kel." Figured out I could get them to do what I wanted if I concentrated hard enough." She shrugged, and looked over at Marcus. As she did so, a somewhat strong breeze came through the place in one burst, and her eyes flashed from green to blue, and back to green.
