Uncle Du 22 Posted August 1, 2009 Woo hoo!! So, I traded in some stuff, did some finagling, and broke out some of my hidden stash (as in, the credit I had on my GameStop card ) and I got a used copy of Tiger '10. So far, very excellent. I don't like the putting at the moment though. But the game looks and plays great. A must for any fan of golf, or of the Tiger franchise. Even if it is made by EA. :p
TheUnknown 39 Posted August 1, 2009 I want a/some sports game(s), but baseball, basketball, football, hockey, or some combination thereof. I plan to get Madden 2010, but I'd really like a hockey game.
Uncle Du 22 Posted August 3, 2009 I think NHL 10 comes out on September 9th. I played the Madden demo, and I was thoroughly unimpressed. They don't do anything NEW with it. It's EA's cash cow, and they know people will buy it, cause it's the only officially licensed NFL game. I'm sick of that monopoly.
CorSec 5 Posted August 3, 2009 If you aren't too picky you can wait for the '10 games to come out, and just buy an '09 for cheap. That should apply to effectively any EA sports title, and the difference in features and game play often isn't huge from year to year.
Uncle Du 22 Posted August 12, 2009 So did everyone download the update for the dashboard? Apparently now you can actually buy and win stuff for your avatar....and there's a lightsaber from what I hear....
Andy 60 Posted August 12, 2009 I saw the lightsaber but it only seems to come in blue... Also I don't have the 400 points it costs. :p
Uncle Du 22 Posted August 12, 2009 Yea, you won't catch me spending money on stupid avatar stuff any time soon. :p
Andy 60 Posted October 27, 2009 Sooo, last night my XBox decided to go CLUNKCLUNKCLUNKEJECT and throw the Left 4 Dead out at me. So, armed with a Torx 10 screwdriver and some superglue, I disassembled it, and found that (as I had suspected) the magnet had come detatched from the spindle inside the disk drive, so simply glued it back on and left it to dry, reassembled the machine... and VOILA! I am amazing. XBox - 0 Andy -

Andy 60 Posted October 29, 2009 That's be nice. I think the GPU might be overheating though, but I need a different Torx scredriver to get to that, I think. I already have TIM-clean and some AK-450 silver-based thermal compound from when I built my PC, so might have a go at cleaning up the heatsink sometime.
Uncle Du 22 Posted October 29, 2009 lol. All this trouble over an XBox. ;)
Andy 60 Posted October 29, 2009 lol. All this trouble over an XBox. I know, who'd have thought an XBox would have hardware problems? ;)
CorSec 5 Posted October 30, 2009 Sooo, last night my XBox decided to go CLUNKCLUNKCLUNKEJECT and throw the Left 4 Dead out at me. Well there's your problem. You're playing L4D on an Xbox.

Andy 60 Posted November 8, 2009 Sooo, xbox died again and i didn't know what was wrong with it so I got another one. A pre-owned Elite... this time from a high street retailer so I have a standard 12-month guarantee with it. Being Elite, it has the HDMI connector, so my TV can actually display the video signal in HD quality now, yayy! It looks much better, lol I think the old one was a really old Arcade version or something. I'll sell it on ebay as spare parts. It's got no red lights, just the video signal isn't reaching the TV so I would assume that some solder has worn off where the AV port meets the motherboard, or something... I'm sure someone else could fix it; I just don't have the patience. :p
Uncle Du 22 Posted January 28, 2010 I rented Prototype last night, and wow, I didn't realize how fun this game was. You can pretty much free roam whenever you want, where ever you want on Manhattan, and you can cause as much or as little destruction as you want. As you level your character up, the things that you can do get more and more over the top. The game is wicked violent and gory, which is right up my alley. It's over the top action, and I've been playing for over 4 hours already, and all I've pretty much done is run around the city throwin' cars at cops. :p
Chickenman 9 Posted January 28, 2010 Finally bought Modern Warfare 2 today. And a subscription card. Time to get crunk.

Uncle Du 22 Posted March 12, 2010 Picked up Dante's Inferno today. I just got to Greed, which I believe is the 4th circle of hell? Not quite sure. But, playing on normal difficulty, for about 3 hours, and I think I'm about half way through the game. It's definitely a good answer for God of War 3, though, it's not GoW. I do give mad points for originality though. I would have never thought to make a video game out of some classic literature. Though, there are MASSIVE liberties taken with the telling of the story. But what do you expect. The environments are truly amazing, and at times, very disturbing. This is hell after all. I don't know if this is good or not, but after a while I got used to the constant wailing, screaming and moaning of the damned. I've found that enemies start getting recycled fairly quickly, and the "puzzles", aren't really puzzles. They're more, flip this switch and get to where you need to go as fast as you can, or you're dead. That part of it gets pretty annoying. All in all, I'm not mad that I spent money on it. There are some pretty sweet parts in it, pretty awesomely made cut-scenes too. It's definitely a game that you canNOT play in front of a young kid. There's boobies and obviously gore. Did I mention there's boobs? :p
TheUnknown 39 Posted March 12, 2010 Has anyone played Bayonetta?
Uncle Du 22 Posted March 12, 2010 I haven't but I've heard really good reviews about it. It was one of the games that I was pondering over yesterday.
Uncle Du 22 Posted March 17, 2010 Picked up Battlefield: BC2. It's pretty good. I'm still getting used to the fact that it's not Halo. Haven't played multiplayer yet, but I'll be getting to that soon.
