Mara 29 Posted July 6, 2009 James Earl Jones can't die. It's a fact of science. Also, I hear that tickets might be sold to Michael Jackson's funeral. Sometimes capitalism disgusts me. $25 each... and I heard something yesterday about people scalping tickets. Sometimes people disgust me.

Uncle Du 22 Posted July 7, 2009 I can't believe that dude was 93. So does it make anyone sick to know that MJ's memorial, and all the police presence and whatnot that will be going with it, is going to cost the city of LA 4 MILLION DOLLARS?! That's 4 million bucks that the city is shelling out, which means it's money that the citizens are paying for a PRIVATE citizens funeral. Unbelievable. But hey, that's what I come to expect outta Hell A.
Mara 29 Posted July 7, 2009 Well, I think all the stuff inside the Staples Center and the venue itself isn't being paid for by the city. Someone donated money. But, yeah... everything else... it's just stupid. I caught the beginning of it today before it had started, and all the news guys were trying to think of stuff to stay while they were waiting for it to start.. Even showing video of the crowd waiting to get in. If I didn't know it was for MJ, I woulda thought it was for a dead president.

Andy 60 Posted July 18, 2009 The world's oldest man has died too... He was 113 last month, a WW1 veteran who served with the British air force before the RAF came along, and put his longevity down to cigarettes, whisky and wild women. TMI if you ask me. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6958420.stm Apparently he was once asked how he would like to be remembered and answered, "I don't. I want to be forgotten. Remember the others."
