Drake 53 Posted April 21, 2008 Trailer released today! This movie looks exciting! The premise revolves around the timeline being altered by the Goa'uld Baal. SG-1 avoids the time change through sheer luck of being en route through the Stargate, which takes them out of normal spacetime. So they wind up on Earth, in the middle of a submarine, frozen in the arctic, that was bringing the Stargate from Egypt to the States back when it was first dug up. When the team makes it back to civilization, they find Earth under attack by a fleet of motherships led by Baal, his queen Ketesh (Vala) and his First Prime, Teal'c. The team has to set things right before Earth is enslaved.
Andy 60 Posted April 21, 2008 Does it require having to have seen the entirety of Stargate: SG-1?
Drake 53 Posted April 21, 2008 This one was made to be a stand-alone movie. I think that some background knowledge of the series would be helpful in understanding the characters and races involved. Without seeing it first, though, I can only speculate. The last SG-1 movie, The Ark of Truth, was a wrap up movie for the story arc they were working on in the show, but they did a fairly good job of covering all the important information. Also, the DVD came with a special feature that's basically a "Last Time On..." to get those who haven't seen the show caught up.

Drake 53 Posted August 26, 2008 For discussion of any episode of SG-1, spanning all ten seasons of the long-running show. SEASON 1 (1997-1998) The U.S. government creates Stargate Command to explore the galaxy and acquire advanced technologies to defend Earth. SG-1 makes many new friends -- and new enemies. SEASON 2 (1998-1999) The team encounters a Goa'uld resistance movement and forms an alliance with the Tok'ra. Captain Carter's life is forever transformed, and the team witnesses the fall of a powerful enemy. SEASON 3 (1999-2000) Earth signs a treaty with the Goa'uld to prevent invasion, but SG-1 continues to encounter deadly enemies -- including Sokar, a powerful rogue Goa'uld poised to conquer the galaxy. SEASON 4 (2000-2001) Earth joins the fight against the Asgard's seemingly unstoppable enemy, and SG-1 discovers that the Russians have started a Stargate program. The team's arch enemy becomes more powerful than ever before. SEASON 5 (2001-2002) A powerful new Goa'uld enemy threatens to annihilate Earth and its allies. The System Lords renew their alliance, and one member of the team begins a new journey. SEASON 6 (2002-2003) Jonas Quinn joins SG-1, and the team faces a powerful new Goa'uld threat. Colonel O'Neill is forever altered, and the Asgard's conflict with the Replicators comes to a head. SEASON 7 (2003-2004) Daniel Jackson rejoins the team after an incredible experience, as the team must find the Lost City of the Ancients to defeat a terrible enemy. SEASON 8 (2004-2005) Change is in the air at the S.G.C., as Jack O'Neill steps into the big shoes following General Hammond's reassignment. Old enemies prove they can't be written off so easily. SEASON 9 (2005-2006) Neither SG-1 nor Stargate Command will ever be the same when a new member joins the team, and a new commanding officer is assigned. An amazing new enemy reveals itself to Earth. SEASON 10 (2006-2007) The Milky Way Galaxy stands on the brink of destruction as the Ori worshippers invade, and Vala Mal Doran joins SG-1 to try and help stop them.
