Andy 60 Posted October 2, 2008 OMGGGG I checked the PlayStation Store and WipEout HD is finally out, YAY! Kinda killed the excitement over The Force Unleashed for me, lol. I have been a big fan of the WipEout games since I first laid eyes upon them. Just been playing it now and I had to stop otherwise I would prolly have an orgasm over it it is THAT GOOD. AT LAST WE HAVE ONLINE WIPEOUT ZOMGAWESOMENESS! Anyone else like with WipEout games? WipEout was on PlayStation and PC, I believe. WipEout 2097 (also known as WipEout XL) and WipEout 3 (plus the special edition) were also on PlayStation. WipEout Fusion was on PS2. Then there were WipEout Pure and WipEout Pulse on the PSP. And now, we also have WipEout HD on the PS3. I have them all except the PSP ones, because I don't have a PSP. Anyone else into the series at all? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Andy 60 Posted October 2, 2008 (edited) Actually they were pretty influential. There was a game on Xbox 360 a while ago called Fatal Inertia which was a direct attempt to kill WipEout. The original WipEout game (by legendary developers Psygnosis!) was one of the original PlayStation launch titles, and is sadly looking very dated now. lol The most recent one for the PS3 is downloadable from the PlayStation store only. :) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Andy 60 Posted August 1, 2009 Sooo, finally the first expansion to Wipeout HD was released last week. With a price tag that is close to the actual game itself was (which, to be fair was a pretty good deal). If Wipeout HD was "woo, look at this bright shiny future and awesomeness in HD!!!" then Wipeout Fury is "right, now we've got you're attention, lets get down to mean business." Installing the addon instantly replaces Wipeout HDs shiny clean minimalist menus with an angry red and black dangerous theme. You know right away that they haven't taken any shortcuts with this one. There are 8 new tracks, 13 new ship models, and three new game modes. As with the original HD release, the tracks are remodels of tracks from the PSP games. It's pretty awesome.
