Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted June 10, 2009 yay, Du! American Income Life Insurance Co has called me twice now, and the second time the guy left a message requesting an interview. I do not remember applying to this company, nor do I have any idea what position they might want me to fill. Apparently they got my resume through CareerBuilder (and now I can't find the menu to block third parties). At least the company itself seems legit. Both the BBB and TheStreet.com (formerly Weiss) have given good ratings, but I'm still wary. If I'd wanted to work for a life insurance company, I would have applied. Still, I want out of the Library. Scratch that; I NEED out of the Library. And none of the other jobs I've applied for have panned out. Hmmm.... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Uncle Du 22 Posted June 10, 2009 I think I know exactly what this company is, lemme check... Yup, I got a phone call from a company very similar to this. What you would end up being is an agent, trying to sell their insurance to people. Mostly elderly people. It is legitimate, but you have to drive ALL over the place, and all that cost for driving comes out of pocket. It is possible to make really good money doing this, but you have to be willing to work long hours and spend a lot of your own money to get your foot in the door. A friend of mine did that for a while, and he said that the potential is there to make good money, but being that he had a family to support, he couldn't continue spending money on gas and food on the road to go to these people's houses.
