Ender 8 Posted June 6, 2009 Ahhhhhh, it was in the news snippets thread. Passport renewals are a b****. I thought all you had to do was go in and do it....or do it by mail. First you have to fill out loads of personal info, get a picture, root through the drawers finding proof of citizenship, and wait through a 4 hour line at the post office. Princess 35 Posted June 6, 2009 I need a caffeine IV or something. The first night back to work is always a b**** for staying awake
Uncle Du 22 Posted June 7, 2009 First you have to fill out loads of personal info, get a picture, root through the drawers finding proof of citizenship, and wait through a 4 hour line at the post office. Even if you already had one?
Uncle Du 22 Posted June 7, 2009 No one has been here ALL day?! Seriously?! For the record, drill weekends in the Navy reserves is friggin boooooooooring. Doesn't help that we have some officer that is all gung ho about this s***, and we don't even do anything. He keeps us there until everyone else in the damn building is gone. Ah well. *grabs a beer* It's a part-time paycheck.
Drake 53 Posted June 8, 2009 I've been gone for the weekend but now I'm back! Thanks, Mara, for dealing with Du's forgetfulness/laziness. :p
Bad furday 57 Posted June 8, 2009 *sinks into a booth* I have just averted a near disaster I was going through the wedding invitations and directions, when I noticed "A block of rooms has been reserved until May 10, 2009" printed on the card with the hotel's location. "OMG!" I thought. Somehow I had forgotten to reserve a room. So I called the hotel immediately......fortunately, they had rooms available. *much relief* :shifty:

Uncle Du 22 Posted June 9, 2009 Tomorrow I'm interviewing with a company called Progeny. The position is a technician/assembly type spot which I know I am more than qualified for. The cool thing is, this company also has DoD contracts, and does work with the Navy, so there's more possibility for advancement in that field. I just hope that if all goes well, they offer me a competitive wage. I also have a management test on Thursday with the census bureau, which I'm pretty sure is gonna be a joke. As in, I'm gonna smoke that test. ;)
