Andy 60 Posted September 16, 2009 (edited) Okay, I know this is a bit early, but in February 2012 it will be GBs 10th birthday; and we are having a serious meet-up, or else! Can't say I haven't given enough notice... But where, is the main question? I accept that I'll probably have to trek all the way over to your side of the pond... So, east coast is good. This is kind of continued off from these threads: http://www.galacticbasic.net/forum/index.php?/topic/3239-discussion-a-gb-meet/ http://www.galacticbasic.net/forum/index.php?/topic/4102-why-are-we-waiting-for-celebration-five/ Edited September 16, 2009 by Andy
James the Defender 7 Posted September 16, 2009 Philly is a fantastic town for meeting. New York is okay, but scary. If you wanted to wait till summer, the Jersey Shore is considered one of the best vacation spots in the US.
Andy 60 Posted September 16, 2009 Doesn't that mean it will be really busy and more expensive? :p
James the Defender 7 Posted September 16, 2009 Yeah, but if anyone wanted to swim they could :p
Mara 29 Posted September 16, 2009 We all know G.R. is the best city in the country, so, yeah. :p
Princess 35 Posted September 16, 2009  Okay, we all know that we're all going to want it to be somewhere close to where we each live, so I say that we try to pick a central location
Mara 29 Posted September 16, 2009 Chicago is pretty central.
Andy 60 Posted September 17, 2009 And is also the worst airport in the world ever. Apart from Charles de Gaulle :p
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted September 17, 2009 Kentucky :p
TheUnknown 39 Posted September 17, 2009 If we're looking for central locations, what about St. Louis?
Ender 8 Posted September 17, 2009 Philly is a fantastic town for meeting. New York is okay, but scary. If you wanted to wait till summer, the Jersey Shore is considered one of the best vacation spots in the US. What is it with you and New York? Did someone look at you funny once when you were small? And you're suggesting JERSEY as a less-scary place than New York? And is also the worst airport in the world ever. Apart from Charles de Gaulle You've obviously never been through JFK. :p
Andy 60 Posted September 17, 2009 Have you ever been through Charles de Gaulle? lol
Radioactive Isotope 29 Posted September 17, 2009 Chicago O'Hare is pretty bad, too. last time i flew through there they changed my gate three times in an hour. of course, none of them were close to each other. the ONLY saving grace was the fact there is a Macaroni Grill. yum! Ender 8 Posted September 17, 2009 (edited) Have you ever been through Charles de Gaulle? lol That I have, and it is TRULY miserable. Nowhere beats it, but JFK is a close second. Edited September 17, 2009 by Ender
Uncle Du 22 Posted September 17, 2009 I second Unknown with St. Louis, it's a really nice city, as long as you don't venture out of certain areas. The Arch is really cool, it's definitely something you should do before you die. And if you wanted to swim, the Mississippi River is right there. ;)

And you're suggesting JERSEY as a less-scary place than New York? Southern New Jersey is. I can't stand cities, but I know to be a part of this, I'll have to go to a city. I just want to avoid the largest city in the world. I absolutely abhor cities. Even going into Philly I cringe. It's better than NYC, but only marginally. I am, and always will be, a country boy. I only like Philly for meeting because of it's rich history. Edited September 17, 2009 by James the Defender
Uncle Du 22 Posted September 17, 2009 Don't worry, you're not the only one that abhors NYC, er, cities. ;)
Bad furday 57 Posted September 17, 2009 I'm going to be different and say please, not Scranton! *randomly throws one out there* San Francisco! But in seriousness, I agree that a central location would be most fair to everyone.
Mara 29 Posted September 17, 2009 And is also the worst airport in the world ever. Apart from Charles de Gaulle I wasn't at the airport. Anyway, technically the central location of the continental U.S. is Kansas. ;)
Andy 60 Posted September 17, 2009 Anyway, technically the central location of the continental U.S. is Kansas. Psst, we're not all in the US. :p
