Uncle Du 22 Posted September 25, 2009 I was just thinking we needed a thread about this. It definitely left me wanting more. It's a cool concept that hasn't been done before. I've already been reading some haters talking about similarities to LOST. Aside from the Oceanic billboard in the beginning of the episode and the random, out of place animal, I couldn't disagree more. I mean, yea, some planes definitely crashed in this episode, but that's not really the point is it? :p
TheUnknown 39 Posted September 25, 2009 Awesome premise. Compelling subplots. Some really good lines. Very intriguing.
Mara 29 Posted September 25, 2009 Sweet! I will be back tomorrowz after I have watched it. :D
Uncle Du 22 Posted September 25, 2009 Awesome premise. Compelling subplots. Some really good lines. Very intriguing. Totally. Like what that little girl said, damn, I was like, "What do you say to something like that?"
TheUnknown 39 Posted September 25, 2009 That line was awesome. Right up there with Eliot's "This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but with a whimper." (For those who didn't see it, the line was "I had a bad dream. I dreamt there were no more good days.")
Uncle Du 22 Posted September 25, 2009 Gave me chills. :D

Aside from the Oceanic billboard in the beginning of the episode and the random, out of place animal, I couldn't disagree more. I mean, yea, some planes definitely crashed in this episode, but that's not really the point is it? Pfft. I love LOST.. and I love this show. I don't really care if they're similar or not. In fact, I think that's part of the reason I was drawn to this show. Anyway, it was amazing! I can't wait for more. :D
TheUnknown 39 Posted September 28, 2009 I posted this on IMDB: Everyone blacked out for 2 minutes, 17 seconds. 217 is the number of one of the more haunted settings in the book. Most everyone saw a broken vision of the future, a vision that I suspect may or may not happen (as the show progresses). "The Shining" is in part precognition. Stress, etc. drives/will drive/may drive the male lead back to drinking, thus breaking up his family. Again, like The Shining. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but it's pretty cool. The Shining is my favorite book. Something else someone noticed: There are 217 days from the premiere to the date the flashforwards take place on. That date is on a Thursday, the day the show airs. The time of the flashforwards, 10PM, is the time the show would be going off if there were a two hour finale.
Mara 29 Posted September 28, 2009 Guess it's more like LOST then we thought. Numbers are pretty important there, too. Anyway, I love little details like that. I love shows that make you think.
Uncle Du 22 Posted September 28, 2009 Any show on TV makes you think. It's what your brain does. All the time. :p

Mara 29 Posted September 29, 2009 Any show on TV makes you think. It's what your brain does. All the time. Not every show. Some are pretty mindless. But this one has lots of details and intricacies, and I loves it.

So no matter how "mindless" it is, it's really not. I'm not talking about it. Well you have to watch it first. ;)

Uncle Du 22 Posted October 1, 2009 You're making the wrong choice...
TheUnknown 39 Posted October 1, 2009 But it's on at the same time as Bones And Survivor. However, you may can see if either or both of your shows have online episodes. I know CBS has full episodes of Survivor on its website. And regardless, at least for now, there will be a repeat Friday at 8. I don't know how long it'll repeat, but it's supposed to this week and did last week.
