TheUnknown 39 Posted October 1, 2012 (edited) Alice in Chains - "Brother" Frozen in the place I hide Not afraid to paint my sky with Some who say I've lost my mind Brother try and hope to find You were always so far away I know that pain so don't you run away Like you used to do Roses in a vase of white Bloodied by the thorns beside the leaves That fall because my hand is Pulling them hard as I can You were always so far away I know that pain and I won't run away Like I used to do Pictures in a box at home Yellowing and green with mold So I can barely see your face Wonder how that color taste You were always so far away I know the way so don't you run away Like you used to do Like you used to do Edited October 1, 2012 by TheUnknown

Ayingel 24 Posted October 25, 2012 (edited) One of my most favorite songs ever. http://youtu.be/q7yCLn-O-Y0 Cause we are We are shining stars We are invincible We are who we are On our darkest day When we're miles away So we'll come We will find our way home Edited October 25, 2012 by Ayingel
Ayingel 24 Posted March 10, 2013 Right from the start You were a thief You stole my heart And I your willing victim I let you see the parts of me That weren't all that pretty And with every touch you fixed them Now you've been talking in your sleep oh oh Things you never say to me oh oh Tell me that you've had enough Of our love, our love Just give me a reason Just a little bit's enough Just a second we're not broken just bent And we can learn to love again It's in the stars It's been written in the scars on our hearts We're not broken just bent And we can learn to love again I'm sorry I don't understand Where all of this is coming from I thought that we were fine (Oh we had everything) Your head is running wild again My dear we still have everythin' And it's all in your mind (Yeah but this is happenin') You've been havin' real bad dreams oh oh You used to lie so close to me oh oh There's nothing more than empty sheets Between our love, our love Oh our love, our love Just give me a reason Just a little bit's enough Just a second we're not broken just bent And we can learn to love again I never stopped You're still written in the scars on my heart You're not broken just bent And we can learn to love again Oh tear ducts and rust I'll fix it for us We're collecting dust But our love's enough You're holding it in You're pouring a drink No nothing is as bad as it seems We'll come clean Just give me a reason Just a little bit's enough Just a second we're not broken just bent And we can learn to love again It's in the stars It's been written in the scars on our hearts That we're not broken just bent And we can learn to love again Just give me a reason Just a little bit's enough Just a second we're not broken just bent And we can learn to love again It's in the stars It's been written in the scars on our hearts That we're not broken just bent And we can learn to love again Oh, we can learn to love again Oh, we can learn to love again Oh oh, that we're not broken just bent And we can learn to love again
TheUnknown 39 Posted June 15, 2013 I posted this on Facebook, but I'll post it here, too. This reminds me of a story my mom told me. My dad was on the transplant list for a lung. At one point, he asked my mom what she wanted to do once he got the transplant. Offhandedly, she said she wanted to go dancing. My dad died before he could get the transplant. When I hear this song, even though it's only one person singing, I imagine the first verse is my mom and the second verse is my dad. On what would have been my dad's 57th birthday, I remind you to sign up to be an organ donor. http://youtu.be/OoBc5mivzns Looking back on the memory of The dance we shared beneath the stars above For a moment all the world was right How could I have known you'd ever say goodbye And now I'm glad I didn't know The way it all would end the way it all would go Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain But I'd of had to miss the dance Holding you I held everything For a moment wasn't I the king But if I'd only known how the king would fall Hey who's to say you know I might have changed it all And now I'm glad I didn't know The way it all would end the way it all would go Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain But I'd of had to miss the dance Yes my life is better left to chance I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance
TheUnknown 39 Posted December 20, 2013 Smashing Pumpkins - "Untitled" Should I know what we're missing What's to stop what they're missing To feel love, to be in love all around Anyone can hold a promise Not everyone Can feel honoured To be in love, to feel love all around Turn me on, hear me speak Let me be what I need You're enough for me Many times while you sleep I'm dreaming of what to keep To know your wish, to hold it true To slay the things that trouble you Turn me on, out of reach Listen here, feel me Just believe, just believe you'll see To feel love To be in love all around Hold the truth if you want it If you don't, I won't flaunt it To feel love, to be in love all around When you're young you can promise Anything that you wanted To be in love, to feel love all around Turn me on, let me speak From my heart I receive Plain happiness, just happiness You and me To feel love To be in love all around To be in love To feel love all around To feel love To be in love all around To be in love To feel love all around I know your wish, I hold it true (feel love all around) To hide the things that trouble you (feel love all around) Turn me on out of reach (feel love all around) Let me speak all my peace (feel love all around) Just believe what you keep (feel love all around) You'll never need to hurry me (feel love all around) To feel love To be in love all around To be in love To feel love all around To feel love To be in love all around To be in love To feel love all around
TheUnknown 39 Posted March 6, 2014 Definitely a song on the soundtrack to my life: Metallica - "The Outlaw Torn" And now I wait my whole lifetime For you And now I wait my whole lifetime For you I ride the dirt, I ride the tide For you I search the outside, search inside For you To take back what you left me I know I'll always burn to be The one who seeks so I may find And now I wait my whole lifetime My outlaw torn My outlaw torn And I'm torn So on I wait my whole lifetime For you So on I wait my whole lifetime For you The more I search, the more my need For you The more I bless, the more I bleed For you You make me smash the clock and feel I'd rather die behind the wheel Time was never on my side So on I wait my whole lifetime My outlaw torn My outlaw torn My outlaw torn And I'm torn Hear me And if close my mind in fear Please pry it open See me And if my face becomes sincere Beware Hold me And when I start to come undone Stitch me together Save me And when you see me strut Remind me of what left this outlaw torn
TheUnknown 39 Posted January 6, 2017 Tool - "Forty Six & 2" Didn't know that this song was so profound: My shadow's Shedding skin and I've been picking Scabs again. I'm down Digging through My old muscles Looking for a clue. I've been crawling on my belly Clearing out what could've been. I've been wallowing in my own confused And insecure delusions For a piece to cross me over Or a word to guide me in. I wanna feel the changes coming down. I wanna know what I've been hiding in My shadow. Change is coming through my shadow. My shadow's shedding skin I've been picking My scabs again. I've been crawling on my belly Clearing out what could've been. I've been wallowing in my own chaotic And insecure delusions. I wanna feel the change consume me, Feel the outside turning in. I wanna feel the metamorphosis and Cleansing I've endured within My shadow Change is coming. Now is my time. Listen to my muscle memory. Contemplate what I've been clinging to. Forty-six and two ahead of me. I choose to live and to Grow, take and give and to Move, learn and love and to Cry, kill and die and to Be paranoid and to Lie, hate and fear and to Do what it takes to move through. I choose to live and to Lie, kill and give and to Die, learn and love and to Do what it takes to step through. See my shadow changing, Stretching up and over me. Soften this old armor. Hoping I can clear the way By stepping through my shadow, Coming out the other side. Step into the shadow. Forty six and two are just ahead of me.
TheUnknown 39 Posted November 4, 2017 Tool - "Right In Two" Angels on the sideline, Puzzled and amused. Why did Father give these humans free will? Now they're all confused. Don't these talking monkeys know that Eden has enough to go around? Plenty in this holy garden, silly monkeys, Where there's one you're bound to divide it. Right in two. Angels on the sideline, Baffled and confused. Father blessed them all with reason. And this is what they choose. And this is what they choose... Monkey killing monkey killing monkey Over pieces of the ground. Silly monkeys give them thumbs, They forge a blade, And where there's one They're bound to divide it, Right in two. Right in two. Monkey killing monkey killing monkey. Over pieces of the ground. Silly monkeys give them thumbs. They make a club. And beat their brother, down. How they survive so misguided is a mystery. Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here. Cut and divide it all right in two [4x] Fight 'til they die over wind, over sky They fight over life, over prayer, over air and light Over love, over sun, over another They fight though they die over words polarizing. Angels on the sideline again. Benched along with patience and reason. Angels on the sideline again Wondering when this tug of war will end. Cut and divide it all right in two [3x] Right in two! Right in two.
