TheUnknown 39 Posted September 16, 2011 I had a holy sith moment with one of my students today. Today, several hours after class, I go to the ATM in the student center. Behind me is one of my students. We chat a little while. I explain how graduate assistantships work, yada, yada. We also had a test today. He says something along the lines of his dad would kick his ass if he failed the test. He says something else and then says "My dad is a member of the state legislature." "Whoa, whoa! Who is your dad?" "Ed Lindsey, the State House Majority Whip." Being the nerd I am, I immediately know the guy's district number, party, and the fact that he's the only Republican representing a part of Atlanta (Northeast Atlanta, including Buckhead). Except he was an hour late for an 80 minute class ands in the back of my mind I was thinking, "please give me an excuse to beat your ass in front of 250 other students.
