Andy 60 Posted January 31, 2012 (edited) Thought I'd make a thread for little gaming news snippets, because we can't very well have a thread for every game that gets mentioned ever. So anyway, the Lego MMO, Lego Universe has shut down after about a year and a half of operation. It looked so promising way back when I first heard about it, but it has obviously failed to capitalise on the success of it's own brand. I'd wager the monthly subscription put off the vast majority of potential players, not least because Lego would attract a lot of kids who can't afford such a payment model. It went free-to-play in August, but it looks like it was too little too late. Sad to see another MMO disappear, but with subscriber numbers dropping all round (even WoW is not immune), I'm sure we'll see another well known title announce closure before the end of the year.
