Andy 60 Posted September 2, 2013 Thought to be killed on the second Death Star in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, rumour has it that Ian McDiarmid is set to reprise his role as Dark Lord of the Sith and Emperor, Palpatine, for Episode VII.It is unknown at this point what this would mean, but some sources indicate Darth Sidious may be returning as a Force ghost as we have previously seen from Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda. Other sources seem to indicate a clone scenario like the cloned Emperor Palpatine's return in the expanded universe, although it has previously been suggested that elements from the expanded universe would not be carried over to the new Star Wars trilogy.
