Mara 29 Posted February 22, 2014 Love Star Wars? Love Shakespeare? Now you can read the Star Wars novels in the language of William Shakespeare, all thanks to author Ian Doescher. The first one, Verily, A New Hope, came out last fall. Next month, The Empire Striketh Back comes out. And then in July we get The Jedi Doth Return. I'm so looking forward to the rest of these; the first one was pretty awesome.
TheUnknown 39 Posted February 22, 2014 Is it in iambic pentameter, too?
Mara 29 Posted February 22, 2014 Indeed. And he wrote out 'words' for Artoo's speech. It's hilarious.

Andy 60 Posted February 23, 2014 These looked interesting, I didn't even know they existed until the other day; might have to look out for them.
Mara 29 Posted February 24, 2014 I found out about the first one through my Barnes and Noble e-mail newsletter a few months back. Otherwise I probably would have never known.

Mara 29 Posted April 1, 2014 Oddly enough, Yoda in Shakespearian speech is actually the most normal-sounding now. Plus, in Empire, the wampa and exogorth have little monologues, ahahaha. (Not to mention, in all, Artoo has some as well, as asides, when no one else can hear; otherwise, he's just beeping and booping.)
Mara 29 Posted July 24, 2014 Just finished the third one, the Jedi Doth Return... And the rancor sings. SINGS. Hilarity.

Mara 29 Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) Well, we knew it would happen, yes? The prequels are also getting the Shakespeare treatment: - William Shakespeare’s The Phantom of Menace, coming April 7 - William Shakespeare’s The Clone Army Attacketh, coming July 7 - William Shakespeare’s Tragedy of the Sith’s Revenge, coming September 8 (PS: Maybe this should be moved out of Legends as well? It's basically canon, just told in a different way.) Edited March 7, 2015 by Mara
Mara 29 Posted July 7, 2015 Currently reading The Phantom of Menace! Instead of "Roger, Roger" the droids say "Forsooth, forsooth!" I totally LOL'd at that. And he made Jar-Jar smart, haha. Apparently he only is acting dumb so that everyone else will be at ease.
