As we eagerly close in on next months release of the upcoming space combat game Star Wars: Squadrons, EA has released a visually stunning CG animated short to introduce us to the world that awaits us when we enter the game. Neel Upadhye directed the animated short, titled Hunted, which was created in collaboration with Squadrons developer Motive Studios and Lucasfilm, along with a dash of expertise from skilled visual effects artists at ILM such as Star Wars veteran John Knoll. Squadrons features a single-player story mode featuring new and familiar characters and starships from the Empire and the Republic, as well as a squad-based multiplayer dogfight mode that will see the factions face off against each other in the aftermath of the Galactic Civil War.     Disney and Lucasfilms have announced that a teaser trailer will be coming for Star Wars Rebels the show announced to take the place of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.Disney and Lucasfilms have announced that a teaser trailer will be coming for Star Wars Rebels the show announced to take the place of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. There isn't a lot of information regarding exactly how this series will fit into the timeline, however, representatives are stating that the show will take place during the time between the original trilogies, "in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape," which seems to mean that the show will likely start shortly after Episode III. The announcement of this show has been much anticipated since the cords were cut on The Clone Wars to prepare for this show. The series is not set to premier until 2014, but the teaser trailer is set to premier on Disney XD around 8:30 PM ET/PT, and is anticipated to be online shortly thereafter. Keep in mind, we won't have a huge glimpse of the series at this time, but the 1 -second trailer should really boost curiosity for viewers of all types. Producers for the show will be none other than Dave Filoni (Supervising Director for Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Greg Weisman (of Gargoyles fame), and Simon Kinberg (screenwriter and producer of X-Men: First Class, and Sherlock Holmes) who will also be writing the first episode. Netflix is to air the sixth and final season of The Clone Wars television series, and add the entire series to its catalogue.The Clone Wars animated series, which was dropped from Cartoon Network when Disney purchased Lucasfilm last year, has been rescued by popular television and movie streaming service Netflix, and will launch on 7th March in the US and Canada region. Season six is titled The Lost Missions, and will be the final season of the show which first aired in 2008. The Clone Wars continues the conflict that kicked off in Attack of the Clones and provides an entertaining story for the time leading up to Revenge of the Sith. A trailer featuring Yoda has been released for the upcoming season: This deal further solidifies the partnership between Disney and Netflix, who also recently announced a Marvel mini-series would air on the service.
