As the new Capital Supremacy game mode is set within the Clone Wars era, players on side of the Republic will need to bring down a Separatist Dreadnought, while those fighting for the Confederacy will need to take out the Republic Attack Cruiser. Heroes for the Republic include Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, and Chewbacca, with new Infiltrator-class Republic ARC Troopers providing reinforcements. The Seperatists are include General Grievous, Count Dooku, Darth Maul, and Bossk, with BX Commando Droids helping defend their command posts. 3. Just came across this Eurogamer article about concept art that has surfaced for the cancelled pre-reboot Battlefront 4 game. Did somebody say Emperor Vader? 4. DICE's Star Wars Battlefront has opened the floodgates for gamers to sign up for the closed alpha testing of this eagerly anticipated game. One of the most eagerly awaited Star Wars video games in years, the long awaited reboot of the Star Wars Battlefront franchise has now launched the closed alpha sign-up process. The alpha is only for PC users, and does require an Origin account to join. You can head over to the Battlefront alpha application site now to apply for one of the limited spots available. Not everybody is being accepted, however, but if you are successful you will receive a confirmation email and see Battlefront appear alongside your other games in your Origin library. Launching the game is disabled for now but will be available to install from 1st July, ready for alpha testing to begin. As it is an alpha, you can expect bugs and inconsistent performance issues, with the system requirements allegedly being that you need a quad-core CPU, 6 GB RAM, at least an Nvidia GeForce GTX-680 or AMD Radeon HD 7970 with 2 GB RAM, and 64-bit versions of either Windows 7 or 8. Star Wars Battlefront is due for release on 17th November 2015, but in the mean time here is 5 minutes of gameplay footage from the game: View full article

  12. Multiplayer support for popular Star Wars games Empire at War and Battlefront 2, meaning players who still use those games will find that the multiplayer functions of the game no longer work. GameSpy, which was owned by entertainment network IGN, was effectively shut down in February 2013 and Glu Mobile maintained servers up until recently when it was announced that the remainder of the legacy multiplayer servers will cease operating. This news comes as a blow to Star Wars gamers, particularly Battlefront fans who still have a while to go before the newest iteration of Battlefront is released next year.

  14. So far the only confirmed game in development is DICE's next installment in the Star Wars: Battlefront series, with development and support continuing as planned for the MMO The Old Republic. EAs chief financial officer, Blake Jorgenson, insists that they do not plan on simply creating games based on the movies and will continue to delve into and add to the rich diversity of the expanded universe. BioWare, original developers of the Knights of the Old Republic series, and Dead Space developer Visceral have also been mentioned in connection to future Star Wars titles. Unfortunately, however, there has still been no sign of a revival of the eagerly anticipated 1313 project.
