It was only a matter of time before Marvel jumped back into Star Wars after the deal with Dark Horse Comics ended last year, and at Comic Con we have seen the reveal of not one but three new series, which will be the first contributions to Star Wars from Marvel since the 1980s. The first, simply titled Star Wars, seems to follow the heroes of the Rebel Alliance shortly after the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. It will hit shelves in January 2015, written by Jason Aaron, and illustrated by John Cassaday. Star Wars: Darth Vader will also follow the story past A New Hope, but this time focusing on the Dark Lord and his recovery from defeat after the destruction of the first Death Star. It is due out in February 2015, written by Kieron Gillen and drawn by Salvador Larroca. Star Wars: Princess Leia is a miniseries following everybody's favourite princess as she laments the destruction of Alderaan and grows as a leader of the Rebellion. Due in March 2015, it will be written by Mark Waid with art by Terry Dodson.

In what is perhaps not the most totally unexpected move Disney is to bring Star Wars comics in-house to Marvel, bringing an end to a licencing deal that first started with 1989's Dark Empire. Dark Horse have been given until 2015 to wrap up their current productions before Marvel take control. Marvel themselves are no stranger to Star Wars, having published the first comics for the franchise from 1977 until 1986. Mark Richardson of Dark Horse remains upbeat despite the obvious disappointment of losing the Star Wars comics licence, and stated that they have many other exciting projects in the works. With the reorganisation of the Star Wars expanded universe, and the release of Episode VII and the other sequels in the next few years it is sure to be an interesting time for Marvel's new foray into a galaxy far far away.

DC Universe Online: The Next Superhero is You!
Radioactive Isotope posted a topic in General Computer & Video Games
DC Universe Online is an MMORPG that puts you right in the middle of the action. Brainiac has his sights on Earth yet again. You have been granted powers thanks to exobytes stolen from Brainiac by Lex Luthor and released into Earth's atmosphere. Choose your powerset, your weapons, and your mentor. Work alongside your favorite DC characters in missions spread between Gotham, Metropolis, and the Watchtower/Hall of Doom. Will you be a hero and save the world, or a villain to rule it? Anyone else playing? It went free to play in November 2011 for PS3 and PC. Word is it will be on PS4 as well. Of course all the expansion packs and cool gear you have to pay for, lol. I started a file back when it first came out then got lost on the Watchtower and gave up. I recently started playing it again and I'm having a blast as a Tech Hero. The sound is glitchy as all get out, though. Sometimes battle noises and chatter will drop out completely and you just have the ambient noises. Sometimes its the other way around. Normally it doesn't bother me when that happens, but there are a few quests I need to have audio.
