It was recently announced at C2E2 that a three-issue comic series by Phil Noto that would tie into Rogue One: A Star Wars Story would be released later this year. Now it appears that Marvel have cancelled the series, with retailers hoping to stock the series having been told that their orders will now not be filled. According to Bleeding Cool, the main reason behind the cancellation is rewrites. With the challenge of writing and illustrating a comic that links directly to a movie that isn't out yet, which has itself undergone reshoots and editing, ensuring a solid story that connects seamlessly has proven to be too much for the comic book creative team within the time and budgetary constraints they were given. Perhaps after Rogue One's release the team will revisit the series to fill in the extra details fans were promised, but until then the comic is no longer available to pre-order.

Poe Dameron will be getting the Marvel Comics treatment this April in a new series written by Charles Soule and drawn by Phil Noto. Since his appearance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, portrayed by Oscar Isaac, Poe Dameron has been a new fan favourite but not much information about the ace starfighter pilot has been released so far. Marvel's new comic will apparently focus on Dameron's exploits prior and leading up to his debut in The Force Awakens, where we first see him hunting for information on Luke Skywalker's whereabouts on Jakku. Soule and Noto have promised to provide new insight into Dameron's personality while fleshing out the Star Wars canon universe with new locations and enemies. Marvel's Star Wars: Poe Dameron will debut in April.

If you're avoiding spoilers then you may not want to read this article about the latest reveal in Marvel's Star Wars comic series. Since Disney swept away the old Star Wars Expanded Universe authors, such as those responsible for Marvel's new fully-approved official canon Star Wars comic series, have had a lot more freedom with the characters and storylines. This is especially apparent now that Marvel Star Wars #6 has revealed that everybody's favourite scoundrel, Han Solo, may actually have been married during at least part of the original Star Wars trilogy. The shocking revelation comes when a woman introducing herself as Sana Solo arrives, announcing to Leia that she is his wife and stating "Han Solo belongs to me". It is unknown whether Sana's claims are true, but the pair were definitely not on good terms, and she had spent a great deal of time travelling the galaxy trying to track Han down. Marvel Star Wars is an official canon comic, slotting in the gap between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. This means that while Han was busy trying to woo Princess Leia he had a wife who was trying to track him down. The storyline isn't yet finished, so things will certainly become more clear soon enough. View full article
