The galaxy-wide premiere of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was presented at Celebration today, with Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella, Game Director Stig Asmussen, and their team dishing out the details for their new single-player game coming later this year. With only seven months to go, fans have been clamouring for some footage, and we've finally been treated to a trailer, which you can find further down the page, and new information about the story and it's main character. The game follows Jedi padawan Cal Kestis (played by Gotham's Cameron Monaghan, who joined the developers on stage) who survived the Order 66 and has been keeping his head down, hiding from the Empire in plain sight as a scrapper on the planet Braka, salvaging old warships and debris left behind by The Clone War. When his cover is blown he is forced to go on the run from the Empire's Purge Troopers and the Inquisitors. New planets and characters have been developed for the game, and the team wanted the combat to be authentic and meaningful. The lightsaber content will be easy to pick up but with a layer of depth that could mean it is difficult to fully master. This may mean it is similar to the lightsaber combat found in Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. When asked about Cal's lightsaber the response was "how do you know it's Cal's lightsaber?" The lightsaber is said to be integral to the story, and will "grow and evolve" as the story progresses. Cal will be accompanied by a "buddy droid", BD-1, who is a small companion with whom Cal has a boy-and-his-dog type relationship. BD-1's voice was created by Ben Burtt who also created R2D2's voice, amongst many other iconic sounds of the classic trilogy. Cal also has a mentor to share his adventure with, a former Jedi Knight played by actress Debra Wilson. One of Cal's primary rivals is the Second Sister Inquisitor, who along with the Purge Troopers was developed specifically for Jedi: Fallen Order but has already been seen in Marvel's Darth Vader comic series. The Purge Troopers are trained to fight Jedi using a weapon similar to the electrostaffs used by General Grievous' guards in Revenge of the Sith; they respond to Jedi sightings and investigate before the far less numerous Inquisitors are dispatched to the scene. Confirming recent leaks from people involved in the game's development it was announced that Fallen Order is a single-player only story driven game with no microtransactions, and that it was built in Unreal Engine 4, rather than EA's proprietary and much maligned game engine Frostbite 3, which has been a source of frustration for players of other recently released games such as Anthem. The team that has been brought together to work on the game have come from a mix of backgrounds, having worked on games such as Uncharted, God of War, and Metal Gear. They are all big fans of Star Wars and were committed to ensuring that they remain faithful to the universe and treated the source material with respect. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be released on Xbox, PS4, and PC on 15 November 2019.

The first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi was screened to convention goers at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando on 14 April 2017. Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) is the only only character with dialogue in the trailer, which also shows scenes of Rey practicing her lightsaber moves. Although the trailer does not reveal much, Luke's words hint that he no longer believes that the Jedi should be the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy. Captain Phasma was also shown, presumably meting out some Empire Strikes Back style retribution. Kylo Renn appears to have dumped his helmet as we see it shattered on the floor, although the trailer alludes to him still being a major villain for the film. General Leia Organa is also seen, confirming previous speculation that she would play a pivotal role in the film, guiding the Resistance forces. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is scheduled for release on 15 December 2017.

The official trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is here at last. Rogue One is the first of Disney and Lucasfilm's spin-off anthology films, and is directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla). The movie is set shortly before the events of the original 1977 movie, now titled Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. and features the rebel mission to retrieve the plans for the Empire's first Death Star. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first of the Star Wars anthology films coming this December, but true to the form we saw with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, secrecy is rife and much is still unknown about the film. Here's a breakdown of the Rogue One teaser trailer that was released earlier this week with screen-grabs and commentary, and perhaps a little wishful thinking sprinkled in for good measure. "It's a rebellion isn't it? I rebel." Rogue One has a strong female lead in Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), who is introduced to us as a renegade. She first appears to us in cuffs, a captive of the Rebel Alliance, and lead through a base that very clearly resembles the Alliance base on Yavin IV, last seen in the climax of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly, who also portrayed Mon Mothma in a Revenge of the Sith deleted scene) is seemingly trying to recruit Erso as an Alliance operative to join a ragtag band of misfits - a Rogue Squadron, one might say - as they take on a special mission to uncover the details of the Empire's latest weapon. "A major weapons test is imminent, and we need to know what it is and how to destroy it." There's no tiptoeing around here: The Death Star is nearing completion, and we are shown part of the primary superlaser being lowered into place while a fleet of tiny one-mile-long Star Destroyers stand guard. Erso's partner on this misision (played by Diego Luna) is currently an unknown character, but it looks like he already has a history with the Alliance, and carries with him a swagger reminiscent of The Force Awakens' Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac). Ben Mendelsohn's character appears in a crisp white Imperial uniform. Little is known about this Imperial officer, but it has been speculated that he is part of the Imperial Security Bureau. In the now-defunct Expanded Universe, a uniform similar to this was worn by Imperial Grand Admirals, but this is unlikely to have been carried over to the new canon. Forest Whitaker is allegedly portraying a bounty hunter, and again, not much is known about his character, but his voice-over for the remainder of the trailer is clearly warning somebody of the consequences of their actions. A new type of black-armored stormtrooper is shown in an unknown location. There is a moisture vaporator in the background, but the landscape seems rocky and green rather than the sand dunes of Tatooine. It may be worth a mention that the video game Dark Forces, which featured a now non-canon version of the mission to retrieve the Death Star plans, featured Dark Troopers, black-armored droid stormtroopers. Jyn Erso and her partner (oh, please let him be Kyle Katarn) run through an Imperial facility, accompanied by a droid rumored to be Alan Tudyk's character. We can't see at this point whether they are running from the masses of Imperial troops that seem to be following them, or whether they are all fleeing from something else. Unsurprisingly, Donnie Yen's character is a melee fighter, who uses martial arts to defeat a large group of stormtroopers. If you've ever seen the Ip Man films then you probably already knew Yen's character was going to be a bad-ass, and smacking stormtroopers around without a lightsaber or a blaster certainly fits the bill. A cloaked figure walks towards some sort of large misty glowing tube, and the red-robed Imperial Guards are a sure sign that Emperor Palpatine is nearby. The cloaked figure does not seem to be Palpatine himself and wears a hood unlike Darth Vader. AT-ATs, also known as Imperial Walkers, make a welcome return to action as they fire at our heroes as the flee what looks like an Imperial bunker; probably the same one we saw rebels and Imperials alike racing through earlier in the trailer. The terrain appears to be somewhat tropical, and could be the same planet we saw the black stormtrooper on. "If you continue to fight... what will you become?" The trailer finishes with Jyn Erso in a TIE fighter pilot suit. Rogue One is shaping up to be an action-packed opening for the Star Wars spin-off films, although a couple of notable absences are Mads Mikkelsen's character, and the rumored appearances of Darth Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin. But this is just the first teaser trailer, and we are sure to find out more in the coming months. Rogue One will be released on 16 December 2016.

The other day, a new international trailer was released -- a Japanese one. And while a lot of it repeats what has been in previous trailers, it does feature some new footage! Enjoy! So what do we think?

And we have a new trailer! I've watched it over and over and over, hahaha.... Let the dissection and speculation begin! So Kylo Ren is taking over for Vader... "I will finish what you started." Finn is an ex-stormtrooper who apparently can wield the Force? Is Finn who Rey is speaking to (or is it some other woman--the one at the beginning who asks "who are you?"--speaking to Rey? Accents are hard to distinguish.) when she says "The Force: it's calling to you. Just let it in"? Plus, gotta love Han saying that all the old stories "It's true. All of it." And... "the dark side, the Jedi... they're real." Serious chills. Also, any theories were Luke is? Not in the poster, not in the trailers (except for hooded figure by Artoo, who we assume is him)... can only assume that showing him might be some kind of major spoiler, so he's been kept secret. (Saw some idiots commenting on the video who say Kylo Ren is Luke, which is ridiculous because we know it's Adam Driver).

Disney XD's hit TV show Star Wars Rebels is due to return this summer, and brings with it the return of a character established in the expanded universe. The return of Star Wars Rebels will be on 20th June 2015, it has been revealed, with a one-hour long premiere episode titled The Siege of Lothal. The episode was first shown to fans attending Celebration Anaheim earlier this year, and features the return of a fan favourite character established in the former Star Wars expanded universe television series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Ahsoka Tano was the padawan of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars, and in many ways she was to that series what Ezra Bridger is to Rebels. Now an experienced Jedi in her own right, it has been said that she will become a mentor figure to the young Jedi in training. Rebels season two also sees the return of Darth Vader, with James Earl Jones reprising the role of providing Vader's voice, and this is sure to bring trouble for the crew of the Ghost as Vader seeks to hunt down his former apprentice. Check out the latest video for Star Wars Rebels, featuring the return of Ahsoka Tano: View full article

The new trailer for The Force Awakens is out, and we've been watching on repeat, but have we really fully digested the new information? Here we take a closer look at the second trailer and point out a few things we've spotted. I'm sure it goes without saying that this article contains spoilers! The trailer opens with a vehicle racing across desert scene, could this be the speeder we saw Rey (Daisy Ridley) driving in the first trailer? Apparently the desert planet is not Tatooine, as previously speculated, but is instead a new planet known as Jakku. 0:30 - The vehicle passes a Star Destroyer and a crashed Rebellion-era X-wing (note the classic trilogy style engines on the wings). They seem to have been there for quite a while, judging by the general decay and amount of sand that has gathered around the larger starship. A voiceover, which sounds a lot like Mark Hamill reciting a version of his talk with Leia from Return of the Jedi, says "The Force is strong in my family." If you listen carefully there is a creepy Sith-like whispering echo repeating the words. 0:35 - "My father has it." Darth Vader's melted helmet rests on a plinth; clearly somebody has this on display. 0:45 - "I have it." A cloaked figure sits at a campfire and rests a cybernetic hand on R2-D2: Is this Luke Skywalker himself? 0:52 - "My sister has it." We see a very familiar looking lightsaber being handed to female character by an unidentified alien. The lightsaber appears to be the lightsaber once owned by Anakin Skywalker, which was passed by Obi-Wan Kenobi to Luke in A New Hope. The lightsaber was lost after Luke's duel with Vader in The Empire Strikes Back and has seemingly resurfaced. The hand looks too young to be Leia, but it was rumoured previously that Carrie Fisher's daughter, Billy Lourde, had been cast to portray Leia in a flashback scene. If so, this could be it. Pay attention to the background, as there seems to be an audience. The trailer fades to black and the voiceover finishes with "You have that power too." Given the preceding speech about family, we could surmise that he is referring to one of the newer cast members, who may be a descendant of one of the Skywalker twins. 1:05 - Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and his T-70 X-wing squadron skim across a body of water surrounded by forest. We see Poe inside the cockpit, interestingly his helmet bears the insignia of the Rebel Alliance. 1:08 - A brief flash of Kylo Ren slashing his infamous cross-guard lightsaber. A stormtrooper is lurking in the background. 1:09 - Rey and Finn (John Boyega) flee as a TIE fighter pursues them, while BB-88 wheels along behind them. 1:10 - Kylo Ren shows his face again, or not; he is sporting a metallic mask and appears to be involved in a battle of sorts. Stormtroopers in the background appear to be holding civilians while multiple fires burn around them. 1:12 - Stormtroopers assemble outside some kind of base. A large banner with a new logo reminiscent of the Imperial insignia adorns the building, which seems to be heavily armed with turbolasers similar to those seen on the exterior of the Death Star. An updated TIE fighter can be seen clearly to right of the picture. Some important people appear to be on the balcony above them; a new Imperial leader, perhaps? 1:15 - Somebody seems to be making a getaway in a TIE fighter while the garrison tries to stop them. As we have seen Finn in a stormtrooper uniform, and removing his helmet in the previous trailer, could this be how he ends up on Jakku with Rey? 1:19 - A new model of Star Destroyer makes an appearance, as we see several shuttle-like craft approach. 1:20 - A chrome plated stormtrooper walks a corridor in what is clearly an Imperial facility, although the rocky wall suggests it may be an underground base rather than a space station. The character is rumoured to be played by Gwendolin Christie and known as Captain Phasma. 1:21 - Various character shots, including BB-8 peeking around the corner on board the Millennium Falcon and Rey giving Finn a helping hand. 1:25 - The Falcon appears, sporting it's updated squared communications array, and unsurprisingly behind chased by a TIE fighter. Some things never change. In a classic Han Solo move, it dives down inside a crashed starship, which judging by the array of engines visible may be an upside-down Super Star Destroyer. Like the previously seen Star Destroyer wreck, it appears to have been there a while. 1:28 - In case you were wondering what an updated TIE pilot looks like, here you go! Apparently the Empire only has one colour of LED for the internal displays. 1:34 - "Chewie... We're home." In an obvious nod to the original 1977 Star Wars promotional stills, Han Solo and Chewbacca strike a pose. Han seems to have gained a few more greys than his copilot. Did you spot anything we didn't? The cast of Star Wars Episode VII may have been too busy to attend San Diego 2014, but that didn't stop Disney from showing off the latest trailer for the Star Wars Rebels animated TV series. This complements the trailer released earlier this week, that revealed the appearance of Obi-Wan Kenobi in the series. Rebels is set five years before A New Hope, and promises to carry on the way that The Clone Wars left off, with an all-action storyline that pits a band of rebels against the oppressive Galactic Empire. The Clone Wars "veteran" James Arnold Taylor is reprising his role as the voice of Obi-Wan, and will be joined by Billy Dee Williams, who despite not being confirmed for Episode VII has now joined the cast of Rebels in his familiar role as scoundrel Lando Calrissian. Star Wars Rebels extended trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xg5YN3LAGw4 Star Wars Rebels: A Look Forward https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYkXif5Q2mA
